I have it on good authority that th original chanter claims that the new chanter throws out everyone in the Grand stand with his chants as they begin in a different area and timing is thrown completely out thus impacting on the resonance and volume.
r&b could have caught it at its worse today as competitiveness between the two factions has esculated recently.
Stay tuned for further info, a special meeting of members may be called soon to address this matter before things get violent. I even today suggested a new Rooster Rally to start at the old Grand Stand and finish at the newer Grand Stand to bring people awareness of this issue!
I kid you not! (well I do kid about the special meeting and rally but the rest is legit!)

Maybe the official chanter should wear an official looking "clap hat", that will attract the respect he's entitled to as official leader of the grandstand chants. It would also assist to minimise the obvious confusion patrons are experiencing through the rude intrusions of the unofficial chanter. I don't want to be seen to be taking sides in what is obviously a very complex issue, but I do believe if patrons can look over and recognise any new chant emanating from the purveyor of the official clap hat, they will be able to participate with confidence.
Surely the only obvious solution before things fall apart like the Balloon Bill and Bozo the Clown incident in the mall all those years back.

Might have been a good promotional tool for the crowd and the developement of the area
BUT
It was a poor selection irrespective of the hindsight of being clobbered by ST
Also the player who was dropped for BENNETT would not be impressed, surely ?
Who is gunna play this week against CD ?
Will WA in the theme of things play THIELE and COORONG this week ?

Not a bad report R&B with the expected West bias![]()
We did get a good run with the umpiring but as the stats showed we had a bucket load more possession and played in front and controlled the game for all but 15 minutes in the 3rd quarter. As for goals from frees - what about the 5 goals North gave you with very poor skill errors and turnovers???
North's skill level at times yesteday was absolutely some of the worst I have seen for many a year (both ressies and league) and the number of turnovers from poor kicks across goals which resulted in goals to West would have set a record yesterday. 2 of the biggest offenders were two players who normally don't waste a ball - Archard and Allan. It is good to see that the coach at least mentioned in the Sunday Mail write up today but mistakes like that moving forward will cost us dearly against the other sides in the 5.
Considering we played the second half with 2 key forwards in Schwarze and Alleway off the ground (one who had been off since early in the first quarter ) and Damon White and James Allan hampered by groin injuries then it was a very good win in the end for North.
The only negative I will say about Wests tatics was their continual man handling, scragging and "dirty" off the ball treatment they handed out to Allan who despite that still racked up a myriad of possessions. Had some of the West players thought about maybe getting the football a bit more instead of employing dirty tagging tatics the possession count may have increaeed given you some more options to win the game other than North gifting you 5 goals.
Also someone at West should drill into Cupido the benefits of being a team player and learning a defensive side to his game. If there is a lazier bludger who looks for easy kicks out wide and only plays when it suits him I have not seen for many a year. North has one of those players who is on an AFL list but fortunately our coach has seen that and he plays in our ressies.

I think it was clear that apart from my usual praise of Tony Dey, I only commented on the umpires in terms of the North crowd reaction. It made no difference at all to the result. As for domination, the second quarter was even, West dominated the third and North dominated the first and last, to win deservedly, as I said.
As for 5 of our 7 goals coming from your errors, I'm sure Ryan Bennett's strong marking in front of goals might have also contributed to our score. You did turn it over two or three times, which we generally comfortably converted into points from set shots. I also suspect some of your goals came from our skill errors.
West started Birss on Allan and he was off the field injured after only a few minutes, so our on-ball rotations were badly affected, so it wasn't only North who had injury problems.
I'm not sure about Allan being much affected by a groin injury. He roamed far and wide all day. You should hope the injury doesn't get better.
As for West's 'dirty' tactics, see my first sentence![]()
On a more serious note, what were your thoughts on my best players for North? I thought Davis was sensational.

RON BURGANDY
Ive already admitted I WAS WRONG in this thread about Ryan Bennett [good initials !!! Ron Burgandy}
I thought it was a one off selection in the bush
It was not
Ends up that the guy can play
I was really impressed with his effort at Prossie
G
Good reply the Nunanites won a couple of flags , but overall pretty footy does not gain the silverware it should [geez na could have won 5 flags back then as they had a batch of unbelievably good players]
The ReallyHealys play finals type footy
When that style wins games its acceptable to the Rooster faithfuls
BUT
If its not producing wins, mark my works some of the more fickle supporters will abscond
NA BBQ

Ryan Bennett played really well - especially in the 3rd quarter. Good size (around the height and size of Chambers) and he has good hands, you can see why Collins took a gamble and picked him out of the Riverland, that may shut up a few detractors! He did mark well but 2 of his goals in the third came from terrible turnovers in our defence which ended up with him taking a grab when the ball shot back to the front of the square so that was to highlight my earlier point about how many West goals came from turnovers but you are correct in the fact that we probably got 3 or 4 from poor West clearances.
With Birss injured - not denying that hurt your rotations but our loss of Schwarzwe and Alleway had a far bigger impact than West losing an on baller IMO. I'm not sure how you would have gone losing say Willetts and Bennett - like for like positional players, although Willetts still proves to be a huge disappointment for a guy his size and it hurt West having both him and Cupido up forward as Bennett was really your only fwd threat.
As for your best players re North - spot on. Davis was very good and Allan despite being heavily "tagged" off the ball and hampered in his movement still shows his class and gets a bucket load of possession.
