Yeah, not sure if he'll actually head to Adelaide permanently though.
He's loving the Riverland lifestyle and his job at the moment.
Good luck to him if he does decide to go.

Can any of the WAFC supporters shed some light on the idea behind drafting in a riverland league player for one match and what the coaching staff are hoping to achieve by doing so?

My immediate thought is what would the blokes who are in the reserves and perhaps close to being promoted to the league team think about this move?

Serious question.

Have spoken to at least one fringe player about it and he seems very happy with it.
They are hoping it will pave the way to him having another crack.
I think the fact he's played there before has made it a lot easier to take for the boys.

If i had put in k's of hard yards in summer pre season and shown good reserves form, then they go and bring some riverland guy into the side who hasn't played a game all season i would be considering my options. It's a disgrace, what about the player who is going to get dropped from a winning team to let this bloke play.

This Ryan Bennett would want to be good to just walk straight into the 6th on the ladder league side. What's the SANFL coming to when a team just hands out a league guernsey to a guest appearance.

DOGWATCHER, would you be happy if Louis Hadden was dropped from this weeks side so that Alex Kennedy (tanunda) could come into the league side and MAYBE re-ignite his league career.

What a joke, when is Modra and Riccuitto going to make their 'guest' appearance in the Westies league side.

In the Doggies example, I would accept the wisdom of the coaching staff on that mate. They seem to have done us all right over the years.
I'd also think the Westies boys would be thinking about the long term benefit of having a bloke like Bennett, with 78 games experience, back at the club next season, a season in which the club is definitely looking to play finals.

Gosh, can't believe I'm defending the Bloods!

Apparently, they just placed all Riverland players names into a hat and decided what ever name they pulled out would make a guest appearance this Saturday. They parade him around the oval in a car, and then send him out on the field with a microphone, for the benefit of the Riverland public.

Yeah i agree on that point.

I can't see how West can justify it, IMHO it sends out a TERRIBLE message to the rest of the playing group.

Im struggling to understand how he can just roll into their league side shouldn't he have to play a game in the reserves, i mean geez people were questioning the Eagles because supposedly Burton was going straight into there league side, at least his a gun.

I can't believe people are ok with SANFL league appearances just being handed out on a platter, is this what our competition has come to.

Im sure Westies have players such as the Dogs had like Lairdy, J.Casserly, Brad Currie who had to earn every little inch they got on a football field.

How about we just wait until Saturday's game and see how he goes.
Then we'll see whether the decision was justified or not.

Good luck big Truck! Hope you smash them Double Blues!

WHUFC, Wade Champion discusses the Bennett situation in this article. He is a fringe player, hoping to play this weekend.
