Conversely Glenelg's intensity dropped right off. Much time up forward was wasted on lackadaisical half-arsed hungry efforts. It was a little painful to watch after the commandeering performance in the third term. So despite the solid win, I'm left a little disappointed with the final result ... Room for improvement Bays.

agree with this ... I felt the Bays lost composure up forward in the last, which was a common issue early in the season but had not reared it's head for a number of weeks.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Personal Post Only

First a clean sweep to the Bays so congratulations to them - 3 out of 3.

To our teams - all 3 of them to have 10 changes at U18 to cover the reserves and league changes - the boys stood up but we werent good enough on the day.

I believe and as i said a personal post only that it was the first quarter that did us in as if we had made full use of the breeze it could have been should have been 6 goals to 2 at quarter time. Credit to the Bays for the way they worked into the breeze.

PS Snouts - sorry I ate the donuts i had for you on the way to the ground - hopefully you found the bar to your liking!

Good day out, Im quite happy the Bays arent firing 100% like last year, we are very much still working our way into the season....still plenty of improvement and hopefully that comes at the business end of the season this year.

A well rounded team performance, Eagles must be frustrating to follow, thier intenstity ebbed and flowed all day, if they can maintain it they can beat anyone...

Salopek struggled and didnt give us much at all which was suprising...would be happy to swap him for Carr next week

The effort was there today, but the execution left a bit to be desired and against a side going aswell as the one we came up agaisnt today the basics needed to be perfect and they weren't. Think the bays probably should have won by a bit more overall they seemed much more dominant, may have been interesting if the margin had got back to a couple of goals with 10 to go if the Woodville hoodoo might have come into play...unfortunately it didnt!!!
The goals to Petrenko and then Hinge from the boundary line at each end were probably 2 of the better highlights of the day.
Umpiring didnt decide the game but certainaly didnt contribute to the spectacle either, some confusing decisions both ways and ones that seemed to be there were missed, but if you are looking directly into the sun then you probably will struggle to see...(cue MickyJ).
On a lighter note...Heard a "hungry hippo" cry from the general vicinity of the Snouts when David Westbrook sprayed a shot at goal, but didnt hear anything when 3 of the Bays boys did likewise in the last qtr....C'mon lads where is your consistency!!!
Trust the process.

This was a very enjoyable game to watch today [as was the first game earlier this year]

Geez I dunno Mal, it was quite obvious to me that Fuller was trying to flood the stoppages by putting 12+ of his players directly around the ball up obviously a tactic to block Glenelg's run

Also when the Bays had the run in the 3rd the Eagles had all their players in the Bays 3rd of the field only for Grima to sneak out the back and no one go with him (as they were trying to hold a zone) kick over the top and Toddy walks into an open goal!

Was great to have players from the first ever Woodville team to play in the SANFL reserves - 1959 when WFC entered the SANFL before being promoted to league ranks in 1964. 50 years of Woodville FC association with the curent SANFL.

First game for that team was against Glenelg and sadly we repeated the result day by losing to the Bays.

Apologies also for the PA or lack of due to a technical problem for the southern stand and ground speakers.

A good solid effort by all the boys but as other more astute posters than I have pointed out stll a lot of improvement in us yet. Eagles battled hard all day and didn't let up but the boys stuck to the game plan and the 3rd quarter was sensational.

Another good team performace so on with the motley next week agaisnt South, where the memory of last years game in July still burns deep.

No time for complaincy boys another big week then a well earned break.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Bzzt wrong if you go back to the 'ol FootySA days there are arguably less active Bays fans on line now than back then - aka 2004-05...

Congratulations to the Glenelg team today - they outclassed us the majority of the day. The umpiring was very poor - too inconsistent but was no stretch of the imagination the difference between the 2 sides. Eagles hung in gamely in the last and didn't allow themselves to get blown away. An OK effort today considering the injury toll of recent times. We will certainly be a different side over the coming weeks with the birdman and Powell to come in. Booooo to those poofs from Alberton to take Broadbent and not play him. The hoodoo maybe over for now but I wouldn't expect it to last all that long.

I am here dutchy some of us do go to work sometimes ;)
Very lucky eagles we should have lost by 100 points, seeing we were playing the number 1 side.
Umpires while they didnt hurt the outcome left a lot to be desired .when the ball entered many of the packs it more than likely ended in a free kick to glenelg .Plus umpires looking into the sun missed so many frees then paid the very next free they could see.One shocking free can not think if it was league or seconds but both players flew for a mark there were 4 hands in the air and yet the glenelg player was given a free for bneing hit to high .Neither player was anywhere near the others head very strange.

Any clues on why Zac heir lead the ruck in the fourth quarter? the first game the eagles didnt play 3 ruckmen in weeks and they needed the third tall.

And apologies for not posting sunday I came home and fell asleep

No mate not this time there wasn't enough quality players fit enough to handle the number 1 team .

I do think the Eagles game style does fall short at times against teams that run and in glenelgs case flood. So many goals in the third quarter to glenleg players flooding back into the bays forward line 3 or 4 at a time .
But thats just my opinion
