That crowd was bigger than 6,500...more like 8,000 IMHO. They probably dont count people like me who have a seasons ticket prepaid at the club.....how could they count those because they dont go through the gate where you buy tickets.
I think there were 6,500 who paid at the gate because there were many more than 6,500.

We'll have to all wear red hats or something or an SAfooty badge - I think the idea has been mentioned before..
I bought my ticket from someone near the entrance who had a loose roll for those who had the right money, so I didn't go through the ticket office queue either.

Shame on you Psyber.....you buy your tickets with your membership so all the money goes to the Redlegs not shared amoungst the riff raff. You can wear you members cap then with a Psyber sign on it....and a NO SMOKING sign....lol.

I've only just arrived in Adelaide, so I wasn't sure I was going to make the first match, but I wanted to see us beat the Maggies. :D
So, when it turned out I'd finished something else early I dashed down from the hills at the last minute just in time for the start of the main match. I'll call in about membership next week.
I'm seriously not sure what to do about the smoke issue though - it really does trigger migraine.. :(

Ports forward line needs to be looked at. Barham is not the answer at CHF, he took a hanger on the wing, and kicked 2, but he doesnt give a good enough contest when its a 1 on 1 marking contest.
The players looked like they lost confidence going through CHF as well.

Not sure if Jeremy Clayton is injured or not, but for me he spent too much time up forward.

Big tick alongside Ahchee and Elstone. They were fantastic on Friday night, the big cat must have taken 16 marks or something.

Norwood had a good run on just before 3/4 time, where they kicked 3 or 4 in a row, which blew the game open.

SALARY CAP!!

With Luke Saunders and Brad Mercer pulling before the game, Port lost some major potency in attack. Very pleased with the commitment, not so much with the finishing. But Round 1 form is notoriously misleading (unless of course you happen to be Richmond) and there's plenty of room for improvement down Alberton way.

Can Norwood say the same?

Spoke to him up on Coopers Hill, nothing major, just told him I was disappointed he couldn't go on. Found it interesting he didn't go to the team huddle at the breaks though. Is there more to it?

Most Norwood supporters, myself included, were pretty unhappy with our performance on Friday night. We had enough of it to win by about twelve goals but simply can't put the inferior teams away.

So my answer, yes.

I thought Nowood were 2-3 goals better all night. That the margin blew out a little towards the end of the game is no big deal, it happens. But 12 Goals? You're kidding yourself!

Norwood would want to have plenty of improvement in them as I wasn't too impressed with a bit of what I saw ... Given the likes of Campbell and Massie had a pretty limited pre-season though, I am confident we should get better.

Thought we started playing like millionaires after we got 4 up early on, and you can never afford that against a team as honest as Port .. I wish we could develop some of the tackling and harassing ability they (and sides like Central and the Eagles) have.

Already heard that rumour. If it's true then stuff him, we're better off without that kind of attitude!

If not true, then good luck for the future.

Are you saying he spat it because he was going to be picked in the reserves side? I dont think he is good enough to play in the league side...
