Wow.

If I were to put my house on the dogs at that price, I would have 2.5 houses around October....

Sounds pretty good doesn't it, in this climate...

Eagles look the value gamble at 11's
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...

from looking at that Glenelg and Eagles are value

After finishing outside the top 5 last season I would have expected over $10 for Eagles. Although we will improve in 2009 I still feel $9 is a little short for my liking. I think I'll wait for us to have a slow start and then jump on at $15.

Here is my look at the odds:
Central $1.80 - dominant side of the comp for 10 years.
Glenelg $5 - last seasons runner up odds need to reflect that.
North $8 - big improvement on 2008 is expected.
Norwood $8 - wait and see on new recruits.
Eagles $11 - will improve but wait and see how much.
Port $11 - inconsistent and not neccessarily a guranteed finallist.
Sturt $14 - a decline is expected without the tough leadership of MacGowan.
South $45 - some improvement still needed before finals are in sights.
West $100 - no chance in hell.

So, will we see a market released for the Magarey medal before we have played half the minor round?

WTF is that all about?????? :? :?

Hughes, Lee and Juniper are unproven at both AFL and SANFL level so i have question marks over them.
.

Hughes was chosen for the State team 2 years ago but was a last minute omission due to illness. How is he unproven at SANFL level??

Correct. And people are forgetting our biggest "recruits" .... Massie who we only got 2 games from in 2008, and McGuinness who didn't play a game.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the Legs go in 2009.

Think people overlook Lee, who IMHO is the barometer recruit for the Legs this year ... That aside, we are way too short with the sponsors ... Without putting prices on them I'd have thought market order would reflect:

Central
-------
Glenelg
-------
North
Sturt
Norwood
Port
Eagles
(in any order, with minimal price variation)
-------
South
West
(again, any order)

The 6/1 Sturt is more than tempting.

Sure we've lost some gun players but don't forget our Reserves and U17's won the Flag.

Yeah??? A sure recipe for success. Didn't help North win a league flag in the Jarman years when our Ressies went back to back and one year our 17's, 19's and Ressies all won the flag!!! But then again I'm sure the juniors and ressies at Sturt are a lot more talented than those at North!

Did McGuiness play anywhere last year? If not then there has to be a question mark over him especially in the early part of the season. This is too high a standard to miss a lot of footy and get back into the league team.

No, he didn't play in 2008 as he was overseas. However, he hardly played at all in 2006 before coming to Norwood in 2007, and he did alright then.
