It's Port Vs Port Rnd 2?

Postby beenreal » Sun Jan 04, 2009 5:25 pm

Daniel Naughton dropped on 5AA that it looks like a PAFC Vs PAMFC match at the Feb 14th Port Adelaide Family Day. I'm excited by the prospect but in order to avoid a massacre, the teams need to be evened up. Here's my stab at a preferred Magpies lineup: (extended bench)

FF/ Krakouer , Waterhouse , Mardling

HF/ Hall , Tredrea , Murray

C/ S Burgoyne , Summerton , Ebert

HB/ Despasquale , Thurgood , Surjan

FB/ P Burgoyne , Achee , Looby

1st Ruck
Miekeljohn
Elstone
J Clayton

INT/ Saunders, Batson, Weetra, Lobbe, Eichner, Barham, Dolling, Perry

Anyone want to pass comment or provide a Power lineup?

I hope Port ain't counting on Clive to do much in 09 i think he will have more punches than kicks too old, too slow and too angry IMO.

Here are the details of the SAFC matches direct from the club! 8)

Two of three trial games are locked in. We will play Sturt at home on the 7th of Match and North Adelaide at home on the 21st of March. The North game will also incorporate the annual "local premier’s play-off", this year between GSFL premier Willunga and SFL premier Cove. Our other game is scheduled at Glenelg on the 14th of March, but the Bays ground may not be available on that date. This game may end up being transferred to Hickinbotham. Once this is confirmed, all dates will be published on the web-site.

As I say every year get rid of these waste of time trial games.Start the season earlier and have a 24 game season in which each club plays each other 3 times.

Thanks for the info, I look forward to the Noarlunga trial and will get there early for the first match, would normally cheer the SFL side but don't think I could bring myself to cheer for cove especially against a red and white team.

Umm you would need 27 rounds to do that and with finals a 31 week season.

Given that most grounds involve sharing with cricket clubs would be a logistival nightmare to have a 31 week season.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

TM I'm pretty sure that you can only play the 8 other clubs in the competition. 27 rounds only required if you played yourself as well as the other 8.

With nine teams you have to "play" the bye three times as well - 27 weeks.
