I bet you it doesn't stop a pitch invasion if he kicks the ton SP...

It will happen if Chambo kicks his 100th and you'll be one of the first ones out there with your hat on !!

Where was the option of (I couldn't care less whether Chambo kicks the ton and think it's childish to run onto the ground during a game).

Why is 100 more significant than 99 or 101? Are we all slaves to the decimal system? Will anyone run out if a player kicks a gross? What about the Nelson? It's a number. It represents a fantastic achievement in a season, but by how much more than the 97 goals he has already?

I for one think that personal goal tallies like that should be kept separate from finals goal tallies. If Sturt play 3 finals and Chambers kicks 101 goals for the year, the records will say 101 goals kicked for the year. Rather than say he kicked 97 minor round and 4 major round goals. If Grima kicks 20 goals in 3 finals (or 2?) the records will say he's kicked 70 odd for the year. It will show nothing of the fact he had a magnificent major round. Nearly half the comp only get 20 games in a season, one team gets 21 yet one team can play 24. It seems unfair that some players can continue kicking goals on their season tally while others can't. I know the KF is decided in the minor round but we don't continue adding Magarey votes before deciding to remove them, do we?

I vote for not caring, but I also want to see it become the norm that goal tallies for finals are kept separate. Perhaps note in history books that in season 2008, Brant Chambers kicked 97(4) for the season. And perhaps introduce a new medal for the leading finals goalkicker for each finals series. Perhaps we could raise the funs amongst ourselves and create the "safooty.net leading finals goalkicker medal" or something.

Anyway, sorry to rant on like that. But I'd like to congratulate Brant on his excellent season and don't want to have this achievement soured at all by the fact that he didn't reach some silly number that has no significance other than being a number.

Surely if you barracked for Norwood or Port you'd be at the after match presentaions, win or lose? Thats where you should be, with your own, not enough come back to pressies as it is! Why stick around to watch another team's player achieve something?

Now that's just silly. A leading goalkicker competition for the finals? Using your logic, wouldn't it be just as unfair that some teams get to play 2, 3 or even 4 finals and another only 1?

In fact the difference between 20 and 24 games is minimal - 24 games is 20% extra on what every team is guaranteed to play,

Compared to:

4 finals games being 400% more than 1 finals game in a hair-brain leading finals goalkicker comp..

Grahaml - Do you have the same sentiments regarding a century in cricket? I think it's about the equivalent of kicking 100 goals.

Perhaps Chambo can wave the footy around instead of having morons run out like sheep then?
If its about the equivalent then fine each pitch invader 10k like they do in cricket.

Come on you pansies, are you Sturt supporters or followers of a lesser team? Show us what the double blue horde is made of and do your team proud. Hurdle that fence and sprint out to your champion full forward with your scarves trailing behind, and your voice 3 octaves - and tens of decibels - higher than normal.

.... and rob your team of their momentum. Afterall, 5 minutes of personal indiscipline is far more important than your club's success isn't it?

A pitch invasion (by anyone, supporters, reporters, bandwagoners) is stupid behaviour in any sport while the game is still in play. Give the guy a cheer, round of applause, standing ovation etc but if people must act like a mob of idiots then do it at the end of the game.
