Double headers a few times a year - good idea. I like seeing anyone play really.

I think it's smart doing it when there are three teams on the bye (and the other in Encounter Bay) - I guess they are hoping the fans from these three teams will head to Adelaide Oval (in theory).

Actually, if you are going to have a double header and hope for the most fans (apart from changing which team are playing) this is the best way!

I only like the double header contest if my team is playing in the second game, but one of the draw backs is you dont get to see the two's play.

Wedgie,I dont mind the double header in the finals,if the qualifying is played after the elimination, you can hang around (if your team won the elimination) and check out next weeks opponent.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Neither did most of the Glenelg supporters who were there - presentations had already started back at the club before the League GF was over!

Double-headers are fine, I just wish that they had decent beer at Adelaide Oval!

Being in Melbourne this weekend and missing our boys on Friday night would've been two weekends without footy. Was a good day, enjoyed catching up drebin.

With Sturt having a look at some night matches at Adelaide Oval this season, maybe that could be a good opportunity for a double header at Adelaide on the Saturday?

Personal Thoughts re night games.

Inner City Grounds with lights should play Friday Night to link in with workers already in the CBD on Friday.
(ie Adelaide, Richmond, Norwood)

Outer City Grounds should play Saturday Night to give time for fans to get there and be an entertainment option at this time.
(ie Elizabeth, Noarlunga)

Glenelg could probably work either way.

As for doubleheaders ... works OK for finals but when tried in 2006 did not have much of an impact.

Yep, I'm a fan of double headers.

Remember back in about...2005 the good ol' double header at the AO. Good stuff.

mal, hottie & i did the double header on anzac day this year, we were at elizabeth oval (central v sturt) during the day & then went to norwood oval for the night game between norwood & port, which was the match that set norwood alight for the rest of the season....the more footy the better & yep i'm already suffering withdrawl symptons
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway
