Yes,the ginger ninja's are one down in the SANFL now.

Well done to him and I wish him all the best.Perhaps had more natural skill than we all got to see as he was often the 'in and under' player but when given the chance was very damaging.

Good luck to him in his next venture.

CD,must be hard for him to not have a mad Monday after his retirement?

I was also thinking perhaps someone close to these players,Bode,Colville and other retirees could print these pages and pass them on so they can see they were appreciated by all fans, not just the ones who follow the team they played for.

Well done Gavin on a fine career.
A skilled player who I enjoyed watching for his hard but fair approach to the game.

One of the nice guys of footy. A true competitor and a superb footballer. One of my favourite non-Port players. Was shocked he wasnt considered for the Powers inaugrual list.

Well done Gav on a great career. Played the game in the spirit it's meant to be played in, and a great example for all kids.

Would be surprised if he played anywhere else, think he will be involved behind the scenes somewhere at Oval Ave.

While I knew it couldn't be to far away for Gav to hang up the boots, it still is sad to see him go. A gentleman on and off the field, I think all the comments on here just goes to show the respect he has earned. Well done one a wonderful career.

A great career Gav. The epitome of a hard but fair player who also had very good skills. To the moron PAM supporter who was bagging him as he was chaired off on Sunday, Colville has more talent and class in his left toe nail than you'll ever have you w@nkr!

My sentiments exactly Aerie. He is the heart and soul of our great club. From a playing prospective will be sorely missed. Let's hope he stays around and remains involved in some way or another.

One great thing about the timing of his retirement is that we have another champion now captaining our club who, at least from the outside looking in, has the same sort of character to carry the club forward.

I hope Colville does get involved off the playing field (either now or in a few years) and helps keep the club moving forward and improving on what has been built since he came.

A nasty pox on the pa ferrels who abused, sledged and belittled Gavin C. as he was chaired of alberton oval, surely after hammering the Eagles you could have let him farewell with dignity.............it only confirmed what true football supporters think pa supporters.

Ferrett, you are correct, the pa supporters embarrassed their club again with their ignorant behaviour, Coleville would have expected this so no big deal to him. Next year he will either have a year off with him having their first child or he has expressed the desire to coach in the country so dont be surprised if he bobs up close to Adelaide somewhere. I think he needs a year or two away from the club before joining our coaching panel if this is on his radar.

Seeing this is an Eagles thread , does anyone else wonder why our Board hasnt been able to recruit one of Adelaides top businessmen to join it , despite his loyal devotion as a sponsor & fan ( attending most games religiously with Sons ) . His picture is on the front of todays Boomer magazine in the Advertiser . Top bloke is David Simmons , only 54 & recently partially retired ! Hes reluctent I know from personal experience , but this guys obvious credentials is worth pulling out all stops to secure , even if in a minor capacity . Maybe CD can throw some light on the subject , as surely we are looking for strengthening both on & off the field . Sometimes you have to not take No for an answer , and persist to get the real good recruits ( both on & off the field ) . Comments ?
