Guffaw. I didn't see you posting here in September/October 80, 81, 88, 90, 92...

Aah yes, those flags that were (mainly) one by the team now trading as the Power. Good team back then, pity they don't play SANFL anymore. Was great to have the occasional win back then. But the novelty has worn off.

A bit like the Port "defenders"

P.S. Is Ah Chee still hopeless?

I'd make a conservative guess as to how many seasons a player needs to make the milestone.

At 18 matches a season, AhChee would need another 7 seasons to make the 300. 6 if he only misses about 2 or 3 matches in that time.
Sheedy would need 7 seasons as well. Both would be about 34 at this stage, and I don't think there has been an SANFL player who was still going at 34 since Scott Lee and Andrew Rogers.

Try 35 then, to be even more conservative. ;). Lee and Rogers were still going, even at 35. And I think 36.

And Norwood wore lycra....

was rotflmao rd 1 1994 @ footy pk when i first saw Macca in it - looked liked one of our then sponsors muffins (villi's) over the top of a pair of footy shorts...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

1995: 5 games
1996: 20 games 13 goals 6 behinds
1997: 21 games 17.14
1998: 22 games 13.10
1999: 20 games 8.11
2000: 23 games 24.25
2001: 16 games 13.11
2002: 24 games 25.21
2003: 18 games 16.15
2004: 23 games 24.18
2005: 21 games 14.11
2006: 19 games 18.8
2007: 21 games 13.9
2008: 16 games 4.2
2009: 19 games 10.6
Total: 288 games, 212 goals 167 behinds

This list as it stands now, along with corrections I have found compiling round by round for 2000-2002, shows he has another 12 games to reach that milestone. Amazing that both AhChee and Mark Clayton would retire in that time, leaving Weatherald the best candidate for 300 matches. As I stated, if he reaches the milestone this year, it will be the first time since Andrew Payze in 1998 a player has made the 300 club.

I haven't looked it up myself, but have been told that if form and health are favourable, his 300th would be vs Sturt at Unley

That would be the 299th (according to the draw and if my figures are correct, and they should be now). vs Port at Alberton would be 300.

That is correct, the Budget has 286 after Round 20, another two matches after that sees him on 288. It does have him on 5 more goals than what that tally shows, however.

The Norwood website shows 253 league games up to end of 2008, with SANFL website showing 19 games in 2009 = 272 by my calculations ... that's a big discrepancy against 288 if that's what is quoted
