With news of Anzac Day's game relocation to Adelaide Oval, it reminded me of another entrance for my ongoing "whinge" forum !!![]()
4. Channel 10 News - Sports Coverage by Mark Aiston - Wednesday 26th March 2008
Although it doesn't happen as often as it should, it was good to see the TV press cover the SANFL. They were showing footage from Distinctive Home's Dome where the SANFL had their season launch for 2008. It was a good story and they interviewed Lairdy briefly, showed some footage of Thommo in his camo's tracking through the little obstacle course they set up. They also used some snippets from last years GF which bought back good memories. All in all, it was a pretty good story...![]()
That's not my beef though...![]()
Mark Aiston started the story by saying, and I quote:"Now let's move onto the SANFL finals"
Finals, it's not even Rnd 1 yet !!! ??![]()
It annoys me when they can't get things right. I know it's not Aiston's fault, he is just reading off the teleprompter but who ever put it on there should have EDITED properly it before hand ?![]()
I wonder how long before my next addition to the list, that's three in one day alone. I reckon I'm gonna be in for a long year, unless the all of the MEDIA lift their game soon !!!![]()

That might depend on the impact those players are due to have at the club, and whether they'll play league or ressies when they do play for their SANFL club.

What ever is in the top drawer of the bed side table, STAYS in the top drawer !!!
Now, onto another addition for my list of media stuff ups. We now have a number 5 for the list...
5. SANFL BUDGET - Round 1 March 29 2008 - Centrals v Port Magpies Page
I noticed this mistake on Saturday arvo when I sat down to watch the Reserves and as per his topic post, NFC had a few comments as to the same mistake and the new layout of the Budget.
My first impressions of the new look budget were good, I like the new logo and layout as well as the usual interview, a very good one with Centrals wingman Adam Switala and the Q&A getting to know the ins & outs of Norwood backman, Mathew Dawes. Speaking of "ins & outs"...
I noticed this year they didn't have any info on all the teams recruits and departures. I know there has been coverage of this in other media sources, but you would have thought that would have been one of the first things to go into the new look layout (it always has in the past ?)
Anyway, onto my latest addition for this ever growing "whinge" list of media mistakes...
Quite clearly, who ever is supposed to edit the Budget befor it goes to final print is not doing there job properly. On the page with team listings, with the names of Reserves coaches.
Incorrectly it listed Centrals coach as Daniel Healy and Port's coach as Greg Phillips ?
This is clearly wrong as Damien Hicks is now in charge of Centrlals team, after his coaching debut with the U/17's last year and I believe (correct me if I'm wrong), last years U/19's Premiership coach, Mark Tylor has the reins at Port's Reserves ?
As both supporters will probably know, Daniel Healy is now a Development Coach at the Power and I belive Greg Phillips is coaching Virginia in the Adelaide Plains Football League.
And thanks to Scoop on another topic on this site, he advises they have done the same thing for both the Norwood and South teams, naming the incorrect Reserves coach ???
I can't understand why the people that edit this material DON"T get their facts right first. You would probably assume that they haven't even bothered to make a simple phone call to all the clubs just to check if there have been any coaching changes before printing the first issue ?
That said, it will be interesting to see if they have Wayne Weideman printed as Westies man in charge this week and not the new Bloods coach Andy Collins ? C'mon boys, lift your game... !!??
GO U DOGGIES...
Let's see how long it takes before I have a number 6 to add to my ever increasing list... ???
