Ahem.

They've obviously shifted the goal posts from the adding on 6,000 patrons, but this must debunk some of the criticism of the crowd numbers?

Only to the uneducated.

The article cited above suggests that 53926 punters have attended 15 Clowns practice matches this season. Consider games only against the 8 legitimate SANFL teams, and exclude the one obvious outlier (9299 at Glenelg, most of whom did not come to see a SANFL game but to see a specific player), and we see the average over this subset is 33119/12 = 2760, which is slightly less than the claimed competition average of 2896.

So on average the Clowns have drawn the most punters; but in a typical game they have added nothing to the comp.

Clearly the Clowns propaganda machine knows this; hence the revisionist claim that "average crowds of 2000" was the basis for their admission to the league. George Orwell couldn't have scripted it better.

85% of statistics are made up on the spot.
You can make 'figures' talk anyway you like - particularly 'rubbery ones'

Crowds vs port are just as relevant as any other.

And the glenelg game was boosted a lot because of tex but they still would have gotten a lot more than 3k

If you are going to attempt to make this comparison you need to compare it to the average of centrals vs other clubs etc because at present those averages are skewed because of port and crows higher crowds too

And that would make some pretty sorry reading for centrals and westies

Well I did say I was happy to be corrected :)

So they could have got more than that then? Haha

Even without tex that game gets 5k i would have thought. At least.

How many pies and pasties did the 8 dinkum clubs sell at those games then?

How many patrons (i.e. Cows supporters) paid to get into Glenelg?

Would have thought the Clare footy clubs would have greatly appreciated the support, as well as the foundation set up for the young lad who was killed by the play equipment.

But I guess that is all secondary to the amount of pies sold at unley

Oh Benny, stop hitting these poor people with facts, you're getting in the way of a more than 12 month sook! Oh, and if we want to talk about pies and pasties, yet somehow try to pretend the 9k who attended the Glenelg Crows game is somehow irrelevant, how many pies and pasties do we think were sold at that game?

Certainly in terms of crowds and interest in the competition, the no AFL in the SANFL argument has collapsed completely.

Yep spot on

crowds and tv ratings with club memberships are in astronomical proportions which is a massive credit to all those involved in making this new state league comp a financial bonanza

Incorrect Crowtard.

People like you are the exact reason my family were cheering hard for the Weagles last weekend, let's hope you witnessed in person your rancid mob of prima donnas throw their skirts over their heads.

Again.

Using a tragic accident to make an internet point?

Nice one.

@Topsy

I notice that you actually had no contrary argument to my post, just name calling and a dig at the Crows AFL team. Out of arguments? Thought so!
