I think the issues at Centrals go a bit deeper than that, their U/18 results this year indicate they have lost connection with their zone, may become South Adelaide Mk2

We seemed to decide on a new way of going about things around 10 years ago and that saw our reserves and underage squads somewhere between middle of the road and poor most of the time. Issue over the last 4-5 years is our recruiting hasn't been as effective and also our zones just aren't producing the same quality. Whether it's an era of the kids not bring as good or the way we're going about that I'm sure the club will work that out.

As for being South mk II that seems a bit rich. Only 3 years ago we were celebrating 9 in 11 years. 3 years of playing finals is a mile away from 50 years in the wilderness.

Weslo outnumbered the early crowd 2 to 1, no wonder they missed out on the contract for AO, hope the new company is a bit more choosy with it's recruiting than these clowns!!

Too right, hard to fathom we won't be back there before a match again.

Well Centrals certainly had the mix right for 10 years !
Things change and it will be hard now to recruit the likes of Gowans, Suckling and Co.
Like anything it will need to be a balance of producing 2 or 3 younger players a year, losing them but getting the ones lost previously back to the club.

Correct. Remembering our reserves won last years GF, full of young guys. Also, the old story of having the least amount of schools, clubs and participants in their zone (same as South).

Would have been around 6.5-7k I reckon.
Though the Waldhuter-Fenton incident may have created a bit of interest on here (just as, if not more, thuggish than anything Parry's ever done ;) )

Looked like about 2000 for the west v eagle game.

Meh.

Headbutting is almost the king of thuggery. Waldhunter will cop his suspension. At least he doesn't have to be worried about being banned for life next time.

Waldhuter offered 2 weeks, Barmby a reprimand for pushing the North runner, the North runner a $300 fine for his part in it and Kriston Thompson offered 1 week for his hit on Schiller in the reserves on Saturday...

One would think for the North Adelaide runner this is not first time he has found him self in hot water over a verbal altercation on the sporting field

Are you sure about that. Actually Sunday was the first time I had ever noticed this runner for North. Josh Francou's brother Sam used to be the runner until the South game on the Anzac Day weekend earlier this year. Sam certainly went to the Dave Arnfield school of running.

Certainly. Known to offer constructive advice on the Cricket field and it didn't matter if he was playing or coaching. Positive he would have had dust ups at indoor cricket too. Hence my use of the term sporting field....
