Interesting comment from Davies on the paper.

(along the lines of) "....for this years Foxtel Cup we had in writing from 8 of the 9 clubs an interest to participate if given the opportunity..."

Who didn't then?

Saturday nights are the timeslot South believe works best for them, and they can associate with their club . Fair enough too.

When did footballers get so soft? Not like the good old days ... play on a Saturday, butter up Tuesday night on a bog at Norwood or Thebby or maybe even get on a plane and take on a VFL team at Waverley, then have four days to recover before your next domestic game.

Serious question, where did you get this quote from back in November, its not in the article anymore. This was what Bass had in his blog was his understanding as well? Just interested.

So if 8 of the 9 clubs were willing to participate, why does it seem that almost to a man everyone on here not want it?

Hey, that's it, we should send a team of administrators into SANFL Headquarters to search the Foxtel Cup files, get to the bottom of the whole thing, then regardless of the result, charge the SANFL for bringing the game into disrepute, fine them $90k and get our money back from Port Adelaide!!!

All I know is if I was coach of an SANFL team, I'd be on the front foot finding out exactly when my team was playing. Not relying on others to pass on the information.

Not sure that you blokes would have a leg to stand on if you're going to criticise other organisations administration skills. ;)

Can't be too sure there Phil. I'd say this time last year none of us would have said 5 clubs were interested, let alone 8.

Who knows, the ninth may have just made a phone call? ;)

Answer my own question. Norwood have known since September last year according to the SANFL. Before the SANFL fixture was released. 8 months.
