Now we know why Norwood didn't enter the Foxtel Cup, too busy with this tournament!

I think its a club culture thing with both supporters and players, also refer to 2010 GF threads etc ;)

Ok, enough's enough, ease up on Norwood for a while. SURELY you understand why they are slightly miffed? After all, they DID invent the game & who are we to come along & steal their limelight?

Maybe he should just HTFU like a few of his supporters crying over the lack or recognition they received? Just saying ..

Stop inventing controversy, check out who Killa supports.

I saw who he barracked for??? I just made a "tongue in cheek" comment to his post because apparently as a keen neutral observer he noticed that some of you Nwd people don't take too kindly to not having things your way. I see one of your players got reported for abusing the umpire after the game. First Bode coughs up a free that leads to North's last goal, Suckling gets reported for abuse and Bassett sooks like a girl in the press and apparently the Nwd fans were going to riot.

Geez you lost your first game for the season in Round 11 by a point - hardly the stuff for the hysteria you lot are carrying on with led of course by your arrogant sooky la la coach!

I shouldn't be surprised with Nwd supporters though when you promote things like MONSFAW and have secret clandestine meetings behind the toilet blocks to keep it a secret!

Nothing like sweeping generalizations made from a few idiots at a game and a couple of keyboard warriors. Now I'm off to go sing MONSFAW behind the dunnies...

Not going to comment about previous decisions but like footballers umpires can't worry about previous mistakes (if they make them) have to focus on the next act of play and the umpire in this case got it spot on.

Guess what I saw today
In the live scores thread you posted
WADH about Jace Bode

Jace is a league footballer , who made a bad decision, abusing the ump in the heat of the battle
As some sanfl + afl footballers have done as well this season
But for you to call him a dickhead is a low call, Mr Keyboard Warrior

Do you agree with his comments especially considering alot of Norwood supporters think his crazy for entertaining the idea Norwood were even the better side on the day.

Just thinking of some of the GREAT coaches throughout time and i cant remember and wouldnt think blokes like Cahill, Laird, Leigh Matthews, Bomber Thomson, Malcolm Blight would ever come out and say the only reason the other team won was because they got lucky.

His obviously not big on the old theory 'you make your own luck'.

I dont think it will be just North that will be looking at these comments or players spitting it after the game either.

Whats funny is the loss to Norwood in no way will hurt their ladder position, they will finish top still and will be playing in a secon semi BUT their own reaction to the loss will hurt alot more and show alot about the character of the guys to the rest of the comp.

Im waiting for Ross Aloisi and John Kosmina to come out and defend Norwood by the end of the week!!!!!!

Not at all, but he'll live and die by his own sword .. If an opposition coach doesn't rate my mob Im not gonna moan like Jenna Jamison about though, I mean seriously does it matter?

Havent seen the game but keen to watch the replay, sounds like a great one.

Basset speaks his mind, I wish more coaches did the same, I think North fans are reading too much into them, if I was one of them I would be enjoying the win and laughing them off. He who laughs last...

I like what Bassett has said. Here we all were thinking this year was a formality, and now the door has cracked open a smidge for the dogs. ;-)

I think Bas has gone a bit over the top with his comments
But he is a straight shooter, he speaks his mind
His style is always going to upset somebody some of the time

I heard James Hirds after match summation of that amazing 4 point loss to to Sydney
It went something like this
'' We were completely outplayed by Sydney, they were better than us in ...in...in...., they were better than us for the WHOLE game...""

Anyone would think SS won by 10 goals the way he talked
From what I saw, SS were not better for the whole of this game, after leading by 47 points

This is typical of the stereotype coach
Bas is not this type of coach

Andy Collins made a ripper statement on the ABC in the WA V EG game at 1/4 time break
He said something like this about the umpiring
"" Eg got a couple of fortunate goals from freebies in their inside 50s."'
"" Hopefully we can get a couple back from them in this qtr.""

Sounded sooky, but it was a scathing from the heart comment

Personally I prefer the 'honest' frank coaches in the media than the more sedate ones

definatly different strokes for different folks!

you have two sides over the last two weeks lose games they would have thought they should win well.

one coach comes out and says the other teams just got "lucky", says they were the far better side, even supporters of their own club cant belive he could think that. A players gets reported for abusing the umpire after a game.

the other coach comes out and says his players were arrogant, thought they tried and played like millionaires, the opposition deserved the win, we need to improve alot.

one bounces back brilliantly the next week and smashed the second placed side never looking in doubt, will be interesting to see how the other team reacts.

North fans? Nice generalisation. I can see Glenelg fans, Central fans and even Norwood fans also. Most North fans including myself dont give a rats about what some hack has to say.
Still a bit sensitive after the previous weekend Dutchy?
If anyone including Bassett had half a brain theyd have to look no further than the tackle count to work out how North won, it was the most effectively tackling match Ive seen from North in over 20 years.
Norwood are still outright favs and deservedly so but at least my team is improving as the season goes on.

Oh and also nice to win games consistently when we're the underdog. More used to it being the other way around.

In a game this close, whoever won was 'lucky'. It could have gone either way, had we won by a point, we would have been lucky.
