Played in Perth, East Perth by 12 goals because it is in Darwin East Perth by 6 goals.

As the Dry Season sea breeze kicks in when the game starts the weather conditions will be the same as it is in Perth in for rd 1 and 2 of the WAFL. Plus East Perth's greater fitness will compensate for any minor acclimitisation advantage Thunder may have. You got to admit TSG, Ewing and S Rioli make Justin McConnell look like Scotty Bamford!!!

The WAFL, VFL and SANFL sides have too much depth through their bottom eight players for the NEAFL, NSWFL and TFL sides.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I think East Perth will win, but I think it will be closer than 6. Lucky the game wasn't last Saturday, as it was nice and still and sticky. Forecast for Saturday is perfect for footy unfortunately. ;)

Ewing and Rioli are not your AFL types are they. Plenty of natural ability though.

p.s. Only hoping the Thunder get up so Westies might have to play up here.

This is not a dig at the PAFC, nor am I trying to stir up any trouble for them. I would be interested to know how much (if anything) it has cost the PAFC to compete in this comp, would they be out of pocket, have they made money from it? The question is valid to North and West also but I'm asking it of Port as they went the deepest into the comp than the others.

Hard to define which is the "on field" and "off field" thread when reading them. Still, I'd be interested to know if any of the clubs made money or lost money by participating in the comp, considering that the prize money on offer was one of the reasons why some SANFL clubs chose not to participate.

I would say no team would have been out of pocket, but I would doubt it was a financial windfall competing in the comp. Someone with a contact at a participating club may be able to answer for certain.
