PS - I rate that Kieran McGuinness. That boy can play.

And what about Pumpa BC - he must be pretty chuffed with 2 flags in a month !!!

I left him at the Berkley at 3.30 this morning and he was an absolute spastic. I would hate to see what sort of form he is in as we speak.

Now there's a quality venue! b-(
;)

What other venue would let in 21 premiership players after a night of drinking??!! :D Chris Gowans told a great story today about his Berkley experience.

Wow, what a boring game. Seriously what an awesome advertisement for the SANFL. Fantastic atmosphere, and brilliant game. I still can't believe it. Along with 2000, the best one so far.
Well done to Norwood, I thought it was going to be close (as per usual).
Kudos also to some of the Central boys, we know Shenton (I think) was injured and Phillips, but also for the doggies, Jenner jagged a hammy in the first half, Yves had concussion, Hayesy had a corked thigh in the first half (from Pumpa) and Boyd broke his leg in the first half and played with many pain killers.
Amazing effort by the boy's to come back like that. I must admit at half time I thought it was going to be Norwood's day, especially after a few of those goals from the pocket.

Well done to the club. For so many years I never thought I'd see one flag and now I've been fortunate enough to see nine.
Still haven't seen the replay. Still in shock. Congrats also to the "older" players yet again, proving your critics wrong (I wont search and post). Go the dogs!

Well done to Central what an amazing run of premierships, I thought the noise from the Norwood supporters was unreal - think Bass has got a great coaching plan and Norwood should improve, If Norwood keep supporting like that then watch out Doggies - might be Norwood on a roll.

So you're pretty convinced Bassett will be there next year then?

Well done to the supporters of both sides yesterday.
Great colour and spectacle. While it's not how I like to support my team, the supporters all wearing the same gear in the north west corner certainly added a little extra to the game.
I saw no incidents to write home about - which is fantastic.
The Legs were valiant in defeat and showed a lot of promise for next year...if they can keep the side together.
Some better recruting opportunities should help them recover any losses.
Congrats to Weatherald on a great career.

Just an amazing win considering the Gowans are too old and slow, Pumpa was eagerly released from Glenelg for "reasons that will become obvious", Sansbury simply can't play, Boyd is a soft sell out, teams don't rate Havelberg, MacKenzie isn't up there with the top rucks in the comp, O'Hara wouldn't get a game with other sides and we only have 2 players in the top 22 in the league.

And about time the best player in the comp got some official recognition.

As a most passionate Norwood supporter for the best part of 35 years I was incredibly proud of the effort the lads put in on Grand Final day but unfortunately we were beaten by a better team on the day. To any true Redleg fans who were whingeing about Flipper getting cleaned up by Ian Callinan do us all a favour, please get over it, it was nothing more than a good, solid hip & shoulder bump which is a part of any football competition other than the AFL. We had our chances in the last quarter but weren't good enough to take them & can only hope that the defeat drives us on to bigger & better things in 2011. Congrats to the Doggies who continue to be the benchmark which the rest of us strive to achieve.
Never hide your enthusiasm for winning out of fear of a disappointing defeat.

Strange that you would site the Centrals players who were all a bit down on the day. Neither of the Gowans had a huge impact, both did look slow and got caught with the ball, whilst still being handy when in space. Sansbury was very quiet I thought, but the few disposals he had were quite telling. Similarly, Havelberg and O'Hara were quiet, Buckets didn't have a huge influence in ruck over the course of the game despite the stats, nor around the ground (zero marks).

Spurr, Callinan and Goodrem were the stand outs. Thomas was solid. Lawry was good in the second half , as was Hayes. But I wouldn't call it a 'rounded' team effort, all played well etc..well not by Central's standards.

Good post.

Great game and the best team won on the day.

A bit more luck on the day, and more luck with player availabilty was what Norwood needed.
2 small forwards short in the last qtr was telling.

Proud of the effort but still disappointed.

The difference in the end IMO was Norwood mistakes when they seemed under little pressure and the expereinced finals campaigners of CD 'just' getting the job done. Time and time again NFC created the overlap on the wing only to miss the first target and the ball get held up either in a stopage or allowing enough time for the loose man to be covered.

As a Sturt man watching the game i thought it was highly entertaining and the experienced heads of CD held on over the young legs.

I agree with all posts saying Centrals deserved to win and in many instances you make your own luck or get that lucky bounce when it counts.
It was an outstanding game of football which was great to watch and so much better than the "hyped up" AFL game which is so predictable.
I am a long time Norwood supporter but also an umpire for too many years who has slowed down considerably.
Not a winge just food for debate. A frontal attack/shepherd {even if the ball is within 5 metres } which makes contact with the head in any grade of football is an automatic free kick. This is a time honoured umpiring rule and instruction.
On Sunday if any of the umpires saw the Callihan/Phillips incident they made a very bad error in not giving a free kick.
One player is off for the match the other dominates from there on kicking three more goals and being the best player on the ground and winning two medals.
Great game football and this is why we love it so much that we can all have our opinions.
Must also hope Phillips recovers well from his badly broken jaw and congratulate him on an outstanding season where he has been Norwood's X factor.
