at least he kicks straight & if he kicks 50-70 he'll pay his way, i don't know how the 'pay system works' for transfers work but surely the 25 large would be a bit much, i believe he wants to play for glenelg for family reasons (kym hodgeman & ben moore)

Welsh would be suited to the Bays - he can be brilliant in the easy going, but is on the whole erratic and unreliable, and packs it in when the game gets tight.

I would love to see Tim Schmidt delisted from Sydney, so he can then add to our midfield depth.

I wouldn't take it for granted. He's been gone 6 years and as far as I'm aware never played a senior game for West (happy to be corrected). There are 2 delistees from the Swans alone in the last couple of years, who came back to the SANFL... but not to the club they were tied to before being drafted.

There's a kind of formula: the younger you were drafted, the less you played for your SANFL club before going, and the longer the period away from SA, the less certain it is you'll return to your 'original' club.

I agree with all that, SH, in general and I suspect Tim will stay on the Swans list, or in Sydney.

If he came back to SA, I would think it would be with Westies as Chris Schmidt playing there.

I too agree that Bowny has proven irreplaceable, but he has his whole life ahead of him.
No-one with a serious medical complaint should be pressured into playing any sport.
Stu has performed above and beyond the call of duty at great risk. Let him be.

Of course, if said complaint is ever completely corrected & Stu is up for it....Rush him in NOW !!!

Tim Schmidt announced his retirement from AFL this afternoon.

Hopefully they can convince Sladey (with a reduced work load) to come back. Watched the GF dvd for the first time and he could easily have been best. Said he was knackered after the last quarter, but we had no rotations.

I don't think they should try to drag Slade out for another year. They can't risk losing a big bunch of players all at once. They've got to get fresh players, especially into the midfield while we still have some oldies to show them the ropes and shoulder the heavier workload.

We've been saying for a while "when they go....", but the longer they stay the more it means we'll lose a lot together.

COMING HOME: Michael Wundke is expected to return to Prospect

NORTH Adelaide is confident former players Henry White and Michael Wundke will return to Prospect next season after being delisted by their AFL clubs recently.

White was cut from the Western Bulldogs’ rookie list after two years while Wundke was cut by the Kangaroos.

Neither managed an official AFL game although White was given a taste of the big time in the pre-season competition.

Wundke’s achievements included two premierships with North Ballarat in the VFL as a key forward.

North Adelaide football operations manager James Moore said the club had spoken to both players who had indicated they were likely to be with the Roosters in 2010.

``We want as many of our local boys to come back so we’d be very happy,’’ Moore said.

``Michael played some very good footy with North Ballarat, two VFL premierships and kicked 80-odd goals.

``Henry has had minimal chances over there but we’ve seen what he can do. He’d definitely add a bit of pace.’’

White is expected to do some pre-season training with the Western Bulldogs in the hope of being re-drafted to the rookie list.

If not, it’s expected he’ll return to the SANFL.
