Both, both have just bowed down to Central, yawn, saw it coming a mile away.

The SANFL- where chokers exist to lose to Central.

6 points and 2 points is bowing down? So what do you call the regular shalacking your team took week in week out this year? Geez come on people, a bit of perspective here.

Centrals showed great mental strength for the second week running to JUST knock off one of the best sides in the league. If Central had lost to Sturt or Glenelg, I doubt anyone would describe that as bowing down.

... but should that be the new definition some fools wish to go by, then I'm glad Sturt had a comprehensive victory today, completely and utterly anhiliating a poor ass Torrens side, who did nothing but bow before our immense greatness.

LOL, here come the Redlegs supporters, sniping from the back of the stands. I don't remember noticing that any Norwood side made the finals in any grade, did you?

When you manage to sort out that mess that you call a football club let us know ... even better, if you can manage to win some games and actually be competitive we'll chat again. Until then, go back to your little sleepy hollow and watch the big boys fight it out for the flag.

Oh, I forgot, you sold everything off because you couldn't pay your bills and now have no clubrooms to sulk in ... #-o

Disclaimer: The comments above were squarely aimed at the 2 'Legs supporters who chose to make sniping comments at a most unfortunate time after a great game by 2 committed and hard fought teams who had put on a great spectacle. Responding as I did after just as I got home after the game wasn't the smartest thing to do either.

I meant no offence to the Norwood Football Club and all but 2 supporters! ;)

I know the Bays boys will be feeling a bit bewildered after that game.
There were two differences and I think one reflected the other.
Belief and goal kicking. Centrals kicked the goals they had to and Glenelg couldn't ice the game when it had the chance by kicking straight.
If just three of those behinds were turned into goals in that third quarter, the game was theirs.
Centrals had control of much of the first term but couldn't quiet make the most of it, allowing the Bays back in with late goals.
But what a finish! Never give up were the words spoken last week, they were on the banner this week. Wise words indeed.

I've been trying not to comment on the umpires, as it would detract from a great game.
I will say they were consistent from the start. Paid the man in front and paid free kicks for too high right from the beginning (even when players ducked their heads - both sides got them).
While the umpiring was consistent, that doesn't mean it was good.
The ticky touchwood nature of the umpiring detracted from the game, removing some of the flow. It seemed the umpires were using AFL decision making. Which is fine in the AFL but this is the SANFL.
I believe that ultimately neither side benefited from the umpiring.

Now, two weeks time, the Northern Hordes trek to Football Park for the annual pilgrimage.

Anybody who saw that game yesterday who didn't realise that the vast majority of those players were hard and desperate for the pill have NFI about the game. It's hard when you're biased towards one team to appreciate the spectacle for what it is ... at times I could do that but as a supporter you're obviously far too close to usually appreciate it. I will have a look at the game sometime this week as I foolishly recorded it.

As I've said before on here, we've had 4 fantastic close games in the finals this year ... what more could you want! (apart from winning the game FFS!)

I think the best thing about the way the finals have panned out is that whoever wins the flag can certainly say that they have deserved it and if the unthinkable happens and the Dogs go down, then either Sturt ot the Bays will quite rightly be able to place that flag very high on the pedestal.

Also - I think it's worth noting Mark Mickan's reaction post game in the box.
He actually looked like he'd lost a knockout final.
His face said "what do we have to do to beat these guys".
If I was a Bays supporter, that vision would have had me very concerned.
It is going to take all of his self belief to come back from that 'look' to inspiring his men to finish the season off.
One would suggest he's capable but it is certainly going to take a lot of energy to lift that obvious feeling of deflation.

I can't argue with that ... the Dogs missed some easy shots early but when the game is there to be had they don't look like missing.

I've never blamed the umpires for a win or lose and I'm not going to start now. As far as I'm concerned you make your own luck, and the Dogs certainly did that yesterday.

To butcher bayman's quote from last night, the battle was lost but the war is yet to be won.

We have beaten Sturt by 6 points and Glenelg by 1 or 2 :? which means that whoever we play will be in with a chance. I am sure that Roy and the boys will be wanting to play better if we are to secure the 2009 flag. This season is panning out to be one of the most exciting for a long time as far as I am concerned.

Wow, what a great game of footy, 2 great games on the day in fact...

The self belief the Dogs have is sensational and even if it is a slight mental advantage over the opposition with their ability to lift when it matters, in cut throat finals you take what you can get.

Great game by Lee Spurr for Centrals, and a great story considering he had quit the club (even had a going away party) pre-season and came back with his tail in between his legs (pardon the pun) asking if he was welcolme back.

Was clearly BOG for mine, with Eddie Sansbury up there amongst the better players as well. Vey happy for Ryan Williams to have a slight return to form, still has a bit of work to do.

Was lucky enough to be in Centrals rooms after the game and the song was sung with a lot of gusto with plenty of smiling faces. Spoke to both Ian Callinan and Andrew Hayes and they said that if Central had to play next week, they would have been fine so the extra week rest can only help.

As is the case every year, will be a couple of selection hard luck stories for the Dogs this year with Hayes and Callinan to come back in and at this stage I would suggest it would come from one of L.Westhoff, Jenner or Switala, unfortunatley.

Well done to the Dogs, hats off to them...

C'mon mate - a week ago, you had your boys as the best team in the competition. Surely, you don't think a Doggies win is a certainty?

Very hurtful Dedj! And there I was cheering for the Tigers too!
In fact, did you stop and think that maybe AH & NFC were just pi_ _ ed off because they too
were let down by the Bays? Maybe not, but hey, we’re a basket case and we can beat ‘em !
Don’t get upset Doggies. I admire all you’ve achieved. Just wanted to see some different colours
at the GF for a change. Great come back Dogs. Very gritty.
Well done to the Eagles, Blues, Bays and Dogs for an enjoyable day in front of the telly.
I’ll be sorry when the season ends. Even without The Legs involved it sure beats the ‘to do list'
around the house !
And Dedj, lets not have any more talk about the big boys until you get close to 27 flags.
There's a good chap.
;)
p.s. Good luck next week. I wonder if 'fester69' will be backing the blues ?
