I expect it now means that his "first match" will be the AFL match against carlton on saturday.

He may only miss the centrals or hawthorn match as his second match.

Could be a nice move by the Crows, assisting their player, within the rules!!.

He will miss
First match is aginst Centrals
Second match against Norwood

I would have thought it was 2 Eagles games & he can't play anywhere else until he serves that suspension.
And I think the Crows should not have been allowed to name a suspended player in their line up ( he was suspended at the time )

I can't believe that the appeal based on the fact "that the decision of the tribunal was so unreasonable that no tribunal acting reasonably could have come to that decision having regard to the evidence before it" didn't work!

2 weeks was a fair call I reckon. If anything, I think that Shirley was lucky with that number of games. It was a dangerous tackle and whether Shirley deliberately did it or not (I'm pretty sure it wasn't deliberate), anything like that should be dealt with fairly harshly as we can't have those tackles in our game.

He was suspended from the SANFL for 2 games. The AFL doesn't come into the equation.

Normally im very critical of the SANFL tribunal but well done and congratulations for standing up for yourself, it's great to see the SANFL take a stance over the 2 AFL teams in South Australia.

That will teach the arogant, smug crows bastards for naming him before the appeal had been heard.

I meant the tribunal standing up for themselves and crumbling under the pressure from John Reid and Neill Craig.

Think of it from their perspective though, if he was cleared he wouldnt have been able to play if he wasnt named without a fine

I would think that come into consideration if he got a 3 match suspension it would have been a 5 week suspension. As it is the 2 matches means he misses 3 weeks of footy.

Serve the Crows right, I wish they had of increased the suspension to go with it, if the player is willing to appeal it, he clearly doesnt think he has done anything wrong so obviously two weeks out isnt enough to get the message across.

Still Neil Craig being the stellar coach that he is will coach his way around it no doubt! ;)

Having now seen the footage I don't believe robbie should have even had a case to answer to. All this is a hard tackle gone horribly wrong - it's clearly an accident and not rough or wreckless conduct. The Eagles have made the right decision in appealing all the SANFL now have to do is reverse the suspension - case closed. Thanks for all the hype and hysteria though bayman it's been enjoyable. Maybe you should personaly apologise to robbie shirley for dragging his good charachter through the mud.

A hard tackle gone wrong? So when he was driving Fisher's head into the ground, what was he actually trying to do?

Hope you will be calling for the next Glenelg player to be suspended to make an apology, seeing as you are so fair minded. Imagine the hysteria if Grima had been found guilty of his recent charge.

grima DID NOT SAY what the umpire (tony dey) THOUGHT he heard...however hypothetically if it was said i'd suggest you'd throw the book at him as that is also a disgraceful thing to do/say

Had to laugh when I heard what Reid said to Cornes/Rowe re the appeal. No wonder so many Crows people are glad he's going. He's a ******* hypocrite....
