Yes, I heard that conversation in the car.
I nearly crashed the car when McDermott said something like;
"They can't have a Reserves Team, where will they get their players from? It will decimate Local/Community Football as we know it"

HYPOCRITE!!!

Question Chris: What was your view this time last year?

Bone has a lot to answer for. North had only won one wooden spoon in the 87 years before he took over. They have won 2 since and are also suffering their biggest premiership drought ever. It's all Bone's fault.

Crows only want a thirds side so they have somewhere to hide Patrenko and McKernan

They could have 15 sides..........I still wouldn't pick McKernan in the 15th side.
Complete and utter Dud!!
Would be playing in Div 7 Ammos if his surname wasn't McKernan.

We sent him on that mission. Reckons it was easier than he thought it'd be!

Was just about to ask on here what's the latest with the way the power and crows reserves will be structured for next year. FFS in no way should this be excepted, port shouldn't even have there reserves side, i think there was a few that suggested as soon as they see how much of an advantage port have with there system the crows will want the same. Somebody needs to step up and get things moving back in the direction of evening things up for the real SANFL clubs. I haven't heard much in regards to port losing there home games and there advantages they have this year, was mentioned a while back and then nothing, nothing from rucci either, he's gone very quiet on it and i don't think this is a good thing, can't trust em, the crows and power will get what they want and shaft the real SANFL clubs if given half a chance.

I'd be highly surprised if Port lost their home matches.

As for the Crows running a third team (and possibly juniors?), let's hope not. They do not need a typical SANFL club structure as they are not an SANFL club.

I'd think there's next to no chance of Port losing their home games, and nor should they.

I'd also say there's next to no chance of the Crows having a team in the reserves comp. I don't have particularly strong feelings on that idea, although I can't say I've given it much thought. Just don't see it happening.

matt35 wrote:There's a lot to chuckle about in this thread. But the thing that makes me, and apparently others, laugh the hardest, is people trying to tell a club, it's members and supporters, who they are, what their history is, how future premierships will be counted etc. Do any of you stop and think 1-how ridiculous that is and more importantly 2-how futile it is?

I certainly hope the Magpies do not win the premiership. But if they do, let me give you a bit of a tip that might help some of you to realise the futility of your comments. 1-People won't be chanting Power and 2-it won't be the Power song that plays over the PA system. Oh, and another hint, they'll be counting it as their 37th SANFL premiership, they won't be saying, oh but some people on an internet forum say we're not the same club any more!

Yes its a free country and people have the choice to believe in delusions, eccentricities, religion, political ideology, celebrity veneration and fantasy role playing. I'm grateful that its not compulsory.

So who is being futile?

Dont follow the VFL too much at all but the VFL reserves comp has 9 sides and these are affiliated clubs or VFL stand alone clubs only. No AFL backed stand alone sides have teams in the VFL ressies. The cost far outweighs the benefit, I know at Essendon our VFL side is made of AFL squad players with about a dozen or so top ups that are mainly retired or delisted AFL footballers, we have no interest in paying for another set of staff and coaches aswell as finding and paying another 30 blokes to field a thirds side when there is no benefit whatsoever.
The VFL is shot and is a differant model to the SANFL, powerhouse stand alone sides like Port Melbourne would struggle for 1000 members whilst it was rumoured that Coburg which was affiliated with Richmond and has now returned to a stand alone club has only 120 members

Once again it comes down to what you think defines a club.

The bottom line is,I believe that it's up to the people who support the club that define what a club is.

Correspondents in this thread who post over and over and over their thoughts on the Port Adelaide Football Club are entitled to an opinion, just like we are allowed to have an opinion on theirs. Ultimately what they choose to think of their club, our club or other clubs pretty much matters **** all.

If it helps inflate their ego or own feeling of self importance, then that's a good thing for them.

PURE SANFL PREMIERSHIPS
Using previous winners, and the 2 new clubs of 2014

36 PORT ADELAIDE
29 NORWOOD
13 NORTH
13 STURT
11 SOUTH
9 CENTRAL
8 WEST
4 WEST TORRENS
4 GLENELG
3 WOODVILLE WEST TORRENS
1 ADELAIDE
0 ADELAIDE RESERVES
0 PORT RESERVES

My Question
If Port Reserves win a flag/flags from here on
Should it be added to the 36 Port Adelaide have won
Or should they begin again ?
