Not sure whether it was a mutual thing due to fitness, but would hope he'd be back.
I could also be totally wrong.

Isn't that where Raynor (former eagles player) is now as well?

Actually another name I thought of and just wondering what happened to him this year is Matthew Jacquier. He was in SA's StateU18 side last year and was touted as a likely AFL selection in the draft last year. That never happened and I don't think he fronted up for the eagles this year. Did he get injured or has he given it away?

Not sure about them Mr Fuller, but would like to know. Thought Rayner was going to be reasonable with a few games under his belt.

What was the deal with Eddy, was he injury cursed, or just couldn't find form?

Injured early on and probably was two-thirds of the year in before he started to string a few games together, but still looked a bit heavy. Was named emergency a few times towards the end, but you'd have thought he would have been able to work his way back into the league after a couple of games in the 2's.

Know he hasn't been an Eagle now for a couple of years at least but assume the Sam Fairclough playing A7 is the same one that debuted as a 16 year old a few years back?

That's Fairclough's level despite Fuller's love for him!
His brother is just too small and basically the same so we will see if the Eagles are fair dinkum and move him on asap

We obviously didn't see much of him, but he didn't seem to add a point of difference to the side. Was excess to our requirements (but probably what we may need in 2014), particularly with Shirley being recruited as well. May have had a chance to prove himself if he was available when Powell was injured but was injured himself then. Didn't seem to have great speed or brilliant skills or anything that would make him anything more than a role player in the side. In the end a pretty poor choice of recruit by the club.

Well put Aerie, after Hoban walking out early in the season, I think Eddy must have pushed Godden well over the edge! To not be selected in the last five games tells the world this guy wasn't desperate enough or hard enough for Godden to play him in the league side even though the Eagles were crying out for extra midfield drive and some crumbed goals. On a positive note, having a young Footy dept., they will learn from that one and next time take the recruit with the rougher edges ( Cachia ) and back Mick to polish him up!

Eddy being a bust, losing Allmond & Tiller mid summer, Hoban walking out after maybe round 3 with Bock proving to be way out of his depth, plus the usual suspensions, really compounded the poor preseason that didn't finish until after the Eagles 0-5 start!

The biggest error though may just have been not reacting to losing Allmond & Tiller when there was certainly good money available to chase and sign some weapons for Godden. We know the $ under the cap were there because the club later after the 0-5 start chased hard for a ruckman here and interstate, while meeting Shannon who chose North mid year. We are a club that must max out it's cap every year and maybe blow off some AFL players late in the season so we stay under the cap, just! ;)
