Why be Woodville? No fun in that...

Was folding an option when you were winning all those wooden spoons... ?
In my mind if Sturt fold then the rest might as well pack up also; all 8 SANFL clubs need to be strong together because we all need to preserve this historic comp as it's the tradition which separates us from the prostitute AFL teams with their media spin doctors.
My view is that the lack of growth in $ and crowds/ members is the fear factor that's pushing our club leaders into a wrong decision to get into bed with two clubs that are sly as snakes

What they don't realize is the offset of the supporters that pull their support and $ after they make this bad decision. Very shortsighted.

Not sure about that, every bridge accross the expressway needs to be rebuilt (at considerable traffic inconvenience) because the initial bridges only covered the one way road being built.

No Phil, the end abutments were designed to be added to. Not easy by any means, but better than knocking the whole bridge down and starting again.

What an interesting comment on the current state of the competition?

And yet when I raised similar concerns about a distinct lack of growth in the SANFL, there were howls of heresy from every direction.

Oh, that's right, I must barrack for Port Adelaide.

Sorry to be anal but from a traffic engineering perspective the Southern Expressway did a brilliant job for minimal dollars. Furthermore, the planning and design that went into it at the time enabled a relatively pain free duplication.

Agree , however from a constructabilty point of view , they should have undertaken the earthworks for the future duplication when stage 1 and 2 were done , would only have represented an addition 20 -25%of contract sum.
If at first you don't succeed , then destroy all evidence that you tried in the first place

But these "FACTS" were raised by Holden78. Why not have a go at him OTR?

Or does your signature only apply to disagreeing with anything Port Adelaide?

Macca's posts are reputable. Booney's posts are reputable. They are willing to listen to debate, show reason and not make stuff up.
So there goes your chip on the shoulder anti-Port theory.

Using Holden as an example of a reputable poster? That's for others to decide, I guess.
I think he has some 'interesting' theories.

Was listening to Life FM on the way to Noarlunga on Saturday, and they interviewed South footy manager Neill Sharpe. He said something along the lines of “It looks as though it’s probably going to happen” in a very casual manner. Not sure why he didn’t spit out the usual sit-on-fence, rehearsed answer. Anyway, trying not to read too much into it..

That's contrary to what Rob Chapman has been suggesting - he reckons there's $40 K available due to the hypothetical crowd numbers the Crows Reserves Team will bring to every game.

Sadly, I think the 'Men in Suits' are buying it :(

Kochy having a fair old tug of it on 5AA right now.

Rowey standing up to him quite well.

Koch summed it up best at the start of the interview when he said he spoke BS for a living.

Delusional.
