Thats the whole point your missing, i have no interest and nor should in going and watching my team strive for 2 points and passionatley supporting them while the opposition supporter next to me couldnt give a rats arse and only knows the 'you wouldnt beat our AFL team line' have been to many VFL games and its the most common line used.

The simplest way i can put to you kickinit, is

i am not willing to watch my league team play against reserves team whose 'main' focus is not about winning and rather developing a player for a completely different league. Especially when is the greed of the AFL.

If thats what i was interested in i would go follow the TAC Cup.

How do you know that the crows and power won't care about winning games? you can't prove they are going to do it so it has no place in a argument.

KICKINIT

Have you ever heard a crows/power official state they want to join our league so their reserves players can experience the honour of winning a flag in the oldest football league in oz ???,,

Guess why not ????

Until an official states that's the reason they want to join our league.

Guess what I've just proven ??

Hey UK fan you will be pleased to know the Crows have also had a brief discussion with the VFL and NEQFL(?) about having a reserves side in their comp next year.

But yes the only reason the Crows want to join the SANFL is to have the prestige of winning an SANFL premiership because they haven't been quoted otherwise.

Must say I did like the VFL when it was a 12 team competition...used to go once a year to see Richmond play when it was the split round in the SANFL... but those days are long gone...if it was still a state based league...all would be good...but the now AFL just want to control everything no matter who gets hurt ...the game is now even referred to as AFL not Australian Rule Football... so basically the little hitlers can basically get stuffed...In my opinion anyway

I was a very nominal supporter of a VFL team until that league began its expansion in 1987.

After 1986 I hace supported only my SANFL team. There is no other.

Actually, mine was Woodville. That year Blighty got them into the 5 was magic. Knocked Port out of the 1st semi. We all went spastic. Walked past the Port cheer squad and saw heaps of them crying. Awesome stuff! So many different supporter groups followed Woodville that day, it was like a state game.
Don't know if I could get as excited for South, they don't seem to be as miserable as Woodville were, though they're approaching the same ball park. They need someone with real charisma to lead the charge also, like Blighty.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

1986 was interesting. Given North were raging favourites having won the 2nd semi final I was more worried about meeting Woodville in a GF given the momentum and support they had that year. Turned out didn't much matter as Glenelg spanked us anyway!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

For me it is Norwood and Sturt.
I had a soft spot for West Torrens before they ceased to exist.
However South do come in next.
