I do pretty much every morning when I go out the front to get the paper. Look at the sunrise, smell the roses, scratch the bollocks.

So, as far as I can tell the brainstrust on here has come to these conclusions : ( All of which are yet to be confirmed )

- The Magpies will remain in the SANFL purely as a reserves team, or
- The Power will have their reserves play in the SANFL reserves, or
- The Magpies will disappear altogether,or
- The Power will have their reserves play in the VFL, or
- The Power will have their reserves play in an AFL reserves comp

Have I left out any other possibilities?

I didn't say it was going to happen, I was just putting it out there it would be a huge loss if Port disappear & then a few short years later the Power do, what a waste of all that history, when we shouldn't have had a 2nd AFL side in the first place.

Firstly, it would be highly unlikely that the AFL ever remove the PAFC as the second SA licence. It needs two teams in Adelaide and they wouldn't take the risk of starting another composite side.

Secondly, what will / may happen to the Magpies as the Powers reserves is far from resolved and I for one, one with so much interest in the outcome, wont be making any predictions just yet.

I'll make a prediction. All PAFC players will be aligned to the Magpies across all grades with an ethos to win Premierships at both SANFL and AFL level. A winning culture is a good culture.

Thats the official and stated position from club CEO, Keith Thomas.

It seems to work for Geelong.

What the AFC does, I don't know and really don't care.

There is no reason why the Magpies cant operate as a Power feeder team and still work their zones.

Lets be honest in some of the regional areas the Magpies are entrenched and it would be foolish to try and strip them of these zones - it would be counter productive for the game as the club that takes them over may be hopeless at junior development.

I beleive the 'catch' would need to be that the team cant recruit from outside its zone.

Sturt seem to recruit fairly well from the Magpies country zone.....Their current captain was taken from under Port's nose ;)

Two good reasons. One, they are not SANFL members. Two, the AFL has a draft.

He is delusional (along with the rest of you Port people) if you think the other 8 clubs are going to allow that!

You can't use the VFL as any example - it is a bastardised VFA / VFL left overs comp.

So to get this straight, you're hanging it on the head of a multi-million dollar component of a multi-multi million dollar Organisation as being delusional?

As delusional as someone thinking 80% of all PAFC revenue goes straight to the SANFL? No one would be that crazy surely?

When are you going to admit your figures were wrong BR?

Media making a bit of deal about Reserves side in our comp! Good to see the AFL centric reporters hijacking the SANFL season launch yesterday to report on this issue and that is all we got on the SANFL's season launch! Godden says he wouldn't mind Crows Reserves team - I wonder if he has consulted his club's board / supporters and sought out what they think? Clearly Mick is nice bloke and a reasonable coach but he hasn't really used much thinking in supporting the concept. Collins was dead against it and rightly so. I know at least one club coach was told not to comment as the matter is still to be formally discussed by the clubs at the table as there has been no formal approach by the AFL clubs re the concept. This I think was because the 8 voting clubs when it last came up for discussion emphatically said NO to having AFL Reserves teams in our League Comp and this is why both Crows and Port have been reasonably quiet on the issue over the summer months.

I suspect the AFL clubs are behind the "renewed" media interest in this and that includes Chris McDermott who made some appalling comments this morning on 5AA in support of it. He managed to quickly mention the SANFL kicks off this week and he even managed to mention some teams re-building and Magpies a chance for finals under McGregor. I would assume if an ex-crow was not coach he wouldn't have mentioned him or the Magpies either!

Note to you "Bone" shut the **** up on things you know bugger all about and moreso things you don't care about! Amazing how people like him can get media gigs on the back of football careers and then call themselves journalists?

Godds has just made himself public enemy no.1, good comments by Collins but he forgot to mention his pay packet may also influenced his move to West, and Bone, what else would you expect from an ex hack North coach?

Simply media people like Bone understand that their $ come from commentating on AFL not SANFL.

Godden certainly spoke frankly about his feelings on the issue, good to see someone have an opinion and be happy to back it up, none of this political talk around in circles crap. He was asked a question and answered it.

If you dont like what he said thats one thing, but wouldn't it be refreshing to have all questions answered so honestly?

One thing I certainly agree with OTR, it wasn't the place to discuss anything AFL related.

I laugh at how 'Bone' and his 5AA mates only really discover the SANFL at finals time, when they start their broadcasts without knowing who is running around.
