Hmmmm. From what little I've read, my impression is that the other 7 clubs' chief concern is that the 2 host clubs will become artificially strong and dominate. I'm kind of surprised by this. Should a similar situation unfold in the SANFL then the strength of the host clubs might be one issue, but I think it would be overshadowed by a number of other concerns. Nor would it be a foregone conclusion that the host clubs would become overly strong; indeed, the opposite situation (that the host clubs' standard falls to lower than that of the other clubs) is also possible - and just as much of a concern.
Regardless - I will NEVER attend a game featuring an AFL reserves team.
I think fears of the AFL reserves teams becoming a super power are a bit unfounded. Sturt were a quasi reserves side for the Crows this year and finished last. Port Magpies were meant to be some super team after coming under the PAFC banner and havent gone close to making the finals in the last 2 years.
I couldnt care if they finish bottom every year.
They do not belong in sanfl!!!
