Was wondering with the 7 unaligned WAFL clubs would say something

Hmmmm. From what little I've read, my impression is that the other 7 clubs' chief concern is that the 2 host clubs will become artificially strong and dominate. I'm kind of surprised by this. Should a similar situation unfold in the SANFL then the strength of the host clubs might be one issue, but I think it would be overshadowed by a number of other concerns. Nor would it be a foregone conclusion that the host clubs would become overly strong; indeed, the opposite situation (that the host clubs' standard falls to lower than that of the other clubs) is also possible - and just as much of a concern.

Regardless - I will NEVER attend a game featuring an AFL reserves team.

I think fears of the AFL reserves teams becoming a super power are a bit unfounded. Sturt were a quasi reserves side for the Crows this year and finished last. Port Magpies were meant to be some super team after coming under the PAFC banner and havent gone close to making the finals in the last 2 years.

I couldnt care if they finish bottom every year.

They do not belong in sanfl!!!

I've heard the deal is done, $20m for both licences. Just waiting to announce after the Tippett saga is resolved.

Thankfully our AFL clubs are not in control of the footy landscape in SA, THEY can't even run themselves without stuffing things up in one way or another!
At least Wicker said on the radio today that changes are 2 years away after the A Oval move. By then the train wrecked WAFL will be there for all to see.

Fate Acompli, The SANFL as always, will not hold out against the rolling catastrophe that is the AFL.

That in its own small way, is the feared deathknell of the Port Adelaide Magpies, as I think the Power will not operate 3 teams, just the Power in the AFL and the Power Reserves in the SANFL.

Just to lighten the mood a touch - as a Central supporter seeing this makes me chuckle . Yeah yeah spelling Nazi etc blah blah blah BUT Norwood Oval is the home of the self proclaimed intelligentsia

Time will tell, but you sound like a Centrals supporter who sits on the fence with regards the AFL, coupled with a huge sense that everyone at the CDFC is unintelligent (which is definitely not the case) see if you are so smug when the CDFC is clearly having to pack up its SANFL bag cop the loss financially forced on us by the AFL or fold up just like all the other 8 clubs. For now I will fight to maintain our SANFL to the bitter end.

It also would've made more sense for the Eagles to align with Perth if we're talking proximity when the new stadium is built.

None of it really makes sense, sure lets funnel all the Dockers players to Peel, have them all drive 70km to friggin' Mandurah most weeks instead of the club that is based at the same oval.

Since we started that call sign 3 years ago, we have used it internally at Norwood to great affect, joke about it all you like, but since then we have gone from nothing to within a smell of any oily rag of winning the GF in 2010, lost the Prelim to the Eagles (who went on to win the GF in 2011) and won all before us and the GF by a country mile in 2012
