Magnificent wasn't it. Fantastic efforts by Daniel Bass and South. A great game of footy so far - Go PANTHERS

South were bloody lucky there in the end, Williamstown were charging. They should have won by a lot more than they did.

One of the reasons I backed South. ;)

Was a good win and well done to the South supporters who made the trip. Not a premiership, but a game they will never forget.

Happy South Supporter right here!
Ainger did go to hospital post game for scans on his ankle/foot allegedly. Walked off the ground ok and played out 3/4 after he injured it however, so may not be as bad as it looks. Sounds like we're all back in Melb on the 23rd of June?!

Alas for South they are in by far the toughest quarter of the draw.

The will play in the quarters either
- Port Melbourne .. VFL premiers and undefeated in VFL so far this season
or NT Thunder .. a virtual NT State side and best club out of the WAFL, SANFL & VFL.

Win that and in the Semi's they will face
- Claremont ... WAFL Premiers and 101 point victors over West.

Win that & the GF should be a cakewalk.

Well done to the Panthers, a riviting if not frustrating contest.

When you appreciate just how little success this club has had over recent decades this will be a great day for their supporters, one that will have positive effects on the whole club.

According to the Foxtel Commentators (who should have really learnt the South player numbers a bit better) the Panther fans outnumbered Williamstown ones 2:1

When was the last time South supporters outnumbered anyone at a game ... let alone as the visiting club interstate?

South and their supporters are due some kudos for backing up their acceptance of the invite with taking it seriously and getting behind it.

Long term will it effect their finals chances? ... will be interesting to see when (if ever) their state team players will get a week off during the next few months.
