If half his team mates put in the effort that he puts in we'd be playing this week.

A forward is only as good as the delivery he gets from the midfield. And that was shit.

Exactly, Id be tipping it on Kirkby before Todd, as I said previously he was the one who broke Lewis's shoulder with his attacker on the ball

I imagine that Brant Chambers' goal kicking record in finals is also not so great.
Perhaps the specialist goal kicker is something that is too easy to shut down in the pressure of SANFL finals. I won't extend on those thoughts out of respect to Chambers and sitting here in front of my desk top in Japan, I am too far from the action to make better than an educated guess.
When was the last time that a specialist full-forward kicked more than say 4 goals in a final? And I mean specialist not a utility cunningly thrown forward by the coach to everyone's surprise.
(eg, Ellen and D Jarman in one of those Crows flags) I am guessing that it could be Schell for the Dogs, and I am basing that guess on the fact that he plays a number of positions and the Dogs have flexiblity as part of their game plan.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

great point mate, i think your spot on the money.

That leads me to ask Spelly,

can you come up with a list of Central goalscorers in the finals since 2000, think you will find it is very much dominated by the smaller type players except for Schell

From memory, Daniel Schell kicked 6 in the record breaking win against the Eagles in 2004, that would have been the biggest haul if memory serves correct...

Cheers big phil,

i think 6th and 7th would be Callinan and Dutschke so it probably does show a bit of patter there, with Daniel Schell being the only tall key forward in the top 7
