westies going well? Far from it. The restaurant is not there to be profitable, but it is terrible and far from breaking even. The club can not afford to get rid of him but I do think the CEO should take a pay cut but also I think he will be hoping Collins goes home!!

Maybe Westies need to promote it more, the eatery that is a part of the front bar is awesome value and makes a far better (and cheaper) Mexican Nachos than Montezumas!

Collins has recruited more players that most clubs (many of which have come and gone since he has been there). You can't say the club has not given him every chance to build a list over the last 4 years .... to no avail. Time to start again

I think its not unreasonable for a club that goes out and recruits a number of players to have a 50% or even less strike rate at them staying, its been proven over and over again that just because someone is a good player in the VFL that they may well not cut it in the SANFL - remember when South Adelaide recruited Tim Deacon, the leading VFL goal kicker at the time, club paid a massive amount of coin to get him for a pretty average result. - With the players that Ron has recruited, we have already turned over several players as we get the mix right into the side, and I fully expect at the end of the season that several players will again be cut from the list and replaced with new prospects to start the process over again until we get the depth right.

I thought it was fair enough for Collins to get the extra year this year to have a crack at the finals and all seemed to be going well at the start of the season. Clearly there list has the capacity when fit to play the game well, the main critiscm of Collins is that his game plan is too defensive. At the start of the season Westies played good attacking footy but have retreated back to the defensive game plan, I think the club need to review the coaching of the club to see which direction they want to go in, it could well be like mr fabulous at Sturt that one one man comes into the side and builds up the group, but another man needs to come in and take that group the rest of the way.

He's not a "trained psychologist", he's a teacher with a diploma in psychology. Your logic is amazing - those who have nothing to do with him have a wiser view of him than those who know him and work with him every day; like he's some sort of evil hypnotist who brings everyone in his reach under a spell.
