This will be his fourth SANFL club, starting at Port, then to Central, Glenelg and now Woodville West Torrens.

One of the nicest guys you could meet and just wants to play footy at the highest level. Will be a good coach.

Deserves any success he gets. Could've easily chased bigger and easier money in country/ammos. Hopefully kicks 5 against centrals next year even if he doesnt get a tackle.

Yes, touche beef! However I think Ben had definitely improved his tackle count.
As mentioned, the Eagles have picked up a quality lad who just wants to play league footy. Hopefully his body remains sound; there's no one out at Doggy-land who would begrudge him getting some league games.

Yes sad to see the lad go but all the best to you Ben. Eagles have gained a dedicated and passionate player and club man.

For Ben to be considered 'not required' we better be doing some serious recruiting! He is still very capable of being a serviceable League player.
Good luck to Ben with this move, and his future overall.
Cheers

I thought the same, not sure why Roy would punt him when the lad wanted to stay. All the best Ben, a loyal servant of the club and the league.

Totally agree with this.

Fair dinkum, just because he is a nice guy Roy Laird should keep him??

He has had more than enough chances, at many clubs, unfortunately he is just not up to this Level.

Sometimes you just have to move on and go play Ammos or Country footy and accept it.

Eagles is more cricket, but either way, stick by the comment. Nice guy not up to SANFL standard.

Most of the Dogs fans aren't saying we should have kept him. Most are saying that they respect his want and endeavor to play the highest level of football he can and simply not chase the money in lower level football. He is almost an extinct breed.

Bingo, obviously hoping that might get him a league game.

Didn't James Boyd also follow a roundabout path to the Eagles too?

He'll be 33, is he gonna be up to it?

Was equal winner for Peel in the WAFL this year, averaging almost 30 touches a game.

A true professional and will be great for Sturt and the younger players to learn from.

Email also said that a Key Forward is high on Grima's wishlist.

Going by that stat then he's good at State league level but AFL has gone by.

Guessing Norwood are all over Luke Partington subject to the draft?

Luke Partington , if not redrafted may not be heading back to Norwood either.

Perhaps didn't word myself properly, merely meant to say he did his best for the jumper and club whilst he was with us. I agree he's a fringe league player at best but could've played him in the twos to provide an old head to help out the youngsters.
