North won the under 17s in 2007 against port. I think they might have won ressies that year as well against Norwood? maggies beat sturt in under 19s that year

I think North have since lost Lewis Johnston, Jesse O'Brien and James Craig to the AFL from that team.

In yesterday's North v Norwood trial, Norwood fielded the following:

Darren Brackenbridge (former North Adelaide from 2004)
Nathan Trevena (ex-Central District)

Also listed:
Tom Beilby (ex-Sturt junior)

I also understand Matthew Gates is no longer an in for Port, having signed at Eudunda.

How did Nathan Trevena go at Norwood, did he play in the 2's ???

Also, I noticed an interested onlooker at Thebarton Oval over the weekend, a former AFL player that may just end up playing in the SANFL this season, not officially announced anywhere as far as I know but time will tell I guess ???

He was noticed by a few players and officials sitting in the stands at Thebby and fuelled speculation then as to why he was in town, being an interstater and all. Stay tuned I guess ???

No, that was the interesting thing, he isn't linked to either of the clubs that played at Thebarton on the Friday night, but perhaps a side that was at the same venue the next day ;)

If the player in question is Courtney Johns, then while he walked out on East Fremantle in the off-season (angering the club in doing so, more so the way in which he did it), he immediately declared his intention to play in Victoria. He signed with Heywood in Victoria last week (playing with ex-Essendon and Brisbane defender Mal Michael in doing so).

That is the player I saw at Thebby on Friday night, had read that he signed with Heywood but then Damian Cupido also signed with Gaza a few months ago and then pulled the pin to go elsewhere.

Not sure whay Courtney would be in Adelaide then ???

Dont think Cupido actually signed with Gaza. Just rumoured to go there.

Well he was probably on his way to Darwin (over night stop-over) to play for TIWI Bombers in their final against Waratahs. He one of nine goal kickers for the Bombers against 'TAHS. His former Bombers team-mate Edwin Darcy (was a rookie listed player in the early 00s) plays for the Bombers.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yeah, I think he was linked to Norwood at one stage and he trained with the Maggies last season early on I think. His other former Bombers team-mate, Jay Nash, played with the Dogs on the night he was spotted at Thebby ???

Rob deJongh's clearance application from West Adelaide has been refused at this point in time, and appears the same for Matthew Martin's application to leave. Patrick Fittock's application to play in the Northern Territory also appears to have stalled.

Would you really want Johns? The few times I saw him play, he looked extremely average.
