Claremont probably are the best side out of the AFL but at the end of the day who really cares what do you get out of being the best side out of the AFL apart from bragging rights?

You would be a better judge. Claremont would be the best side outside of the AFL?

I'd say yes.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Look at Claremont..what a club..they win the Foxtel cup and the WAFL premiership...respect.

winning is everything.

shattered.

Exactly. Think Jim05 is just putting on a show.

Not at all, obviously the club feels the same as me or we would of fielded our strongest side.
The side out there tonight would get beaten by 10 goals every time in the SANFL.
The fact is the club used tonight as a game to blood some kids and find out how the fringe players go under pressure, some failed dismally and will find themselves playing ressies for the rest if the year.

East Fremantle rested a heap of players, and had to travel. I'd be disappointed if my team lost.

Unfortunately results don't have asterisks alongside them with footnotes declaring things like:

* fielded weak side
condescended to play under sufferance
had bigger fish to fry

If you enter the competition you come ready to play. No excuses.

For what it's worth I think the SANFL is a stronger competition than the WAFL with its clubs having better skilled players on average.
But to WA club's credit they take a lot of pride in their performances on the national stage and have a real dip.

East Fremantle 4-4 and in 4th place in the WAFL. Very traditional club where winning is paramount.

Poor effort by the SANFL clubs not to take it seriously.

Claremont would now have to be favourites for the Cup.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Excellent question - Thought East Freo played the better style for the conditions, had bigger bodies and much better footskills.

The Norwood of 2013 isn't the same as last year, we just have to hope we can still be good enough (I have my doubts about that) - And I dont say that on the back of just 1 Foxtel Cup game.

We haven't replaced the run, carry and effective disposal of Terlich, Brown, Batsanis and Cachia and we lack badly in that area .. OK I know we have some good players to return, but some have been out for so long there's no assurances they'll be the players they were, or won't re-injure themselves when they get back, and certainly the depth of 2012 isn't there.

Personally I think North have gone past us and West will, but hope I'm wrong, we'll find out I guess.

Not fussed about getting knocked out of the Cup, think we have more important matters that need addressing.

If one of our star players got hurt playing in this comp id be filthy, we can simply not risk our players getting injuries and missing crucial league games.

So they should be. Winning in another state on National TV.

I remember when North beat Collingwood in Melbourne. Was awesome.

So why the faark even bother being part of it then?

Either don't take it seriously and not take part ... or take it on

Can't have it both ways.

That was in the days when the SANFL and WAFL were considered on par with the VFL and and it was a battle over bragging rights as to who was the best side in the country.
Unfortunately both leagues are compromised and are basically feeder comps to the AFL. All we have bragging rights to now is to say we are the 19th best side in the country

I didnt want to be part of it but I dont get a say in it.
Did the SANFL force us to enter or did we enter on our own free will?
As I said all the other clubs would do the same in our situation

Probably best to ask the muppets running your club why you were in the comp this year.

Clubs have happily told the SANFL to get faarked in previous years so I doubt they would have demanded Norwood be there, unless they're concerned about Norwood's ability to pay their fines.

Your club has never played anywhere near full strength in the Foxtel Cup either ;)
