And I, and indeed all right thinking SANFL fans, believe that an AFL-reserves Magpies team can piss off to the VFL.

Fairly comical that these black-and-white heartland players, brought up through the grades under that black and white banner, have to go in the AFL draft and play where they're told. "junior development" and "AFL club" are two mutually exclusive concepts.

As long as my club survives I don't care who we play.

Must say it'd be interesting to see some decent crowds for a change. Looking at the telly tonight the Crows have some loyal supporters, not as fair weather like a lot of SANFL supporters :P

If the AFL are so concerned about their own reserves create an AFL Reserves competion.
Too expensive ???? Oh it is cheaper to ruin a local comp and dry up player development ?
I and many others chose to go and watch my local team's TRIAL rather than go to or watch AFL last night ! AFL is not for everyone but it seems we are being force fed this shit football with no other option.

Check out Collingwoods facebook post today, explains it all -

The VFL Magpies lost their practice match against the Northern Blues by 41 points this evening.

IMPORTANTLY
, Tyson GOLDSACK got more match fitness under his belt.

VFL forward Cathal CORR booted four goals and Ben KENNEDY was one of our best in the midfield.

Not real worries about losing but the important things was their players got match fitness

Where's that time machine??? let's go back to 1965.. withdraw the Power and Crows from the AFL, de-amalgamate Woodville and West Torrens, have a cosy little SANFL 10 team competition, be the only football state in Australia that doesn't have a presence in the national competition, tell Andrew D to go jump in the lake, bring back Max Basheer and the Player retention scheme, play state of origin against the ACT and make up all our own rules. I really don't understand why other people think SA's a backwater full of small-minded, anti progress minnows....
If you don’t like my words, don’t listen. If you don’t like my appearance, don’t look. If you don’t like my actions, turn your head; It’s as simple as that.

I really don't understand how pandering to the whims of a corporation which is concerned more with milking its fans and its advertisers than it is about football is considered "progress"...

Maybe its the AFL thats a backwards minnow.
The NRL and A-League have a reserves comp yet the supposedly forward thinking AFL dont deem one necessary.
I cant understand why they dont bite the bullet and have a reserves comp, would love to go and watch Essendon league and Reserves play double headers

Well let's hear what you think when the Magpies disolve into the Power Reserves and the best you might get with that part of your history is some over paid AFL players wearing prison bars at 11.25 am each Saturday! That is providing the power let you wear the B&W.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Unfortunately some Port Magpie supporters seem to be in denial that their team is about to disappear ... forever

Let's go back in a time machine and stop the WAFL from caving in to a greedy VFL would be the clear answer.
What's so backward about loving our league anyway?
What's that got to do with SA as a whole? The average South Australian supports the Crows and has embraced AFL footy. Are they all anti-progress too? Or is the SANFL's presence so powerful that it's become a flagship for all South Australians and as such colours the image of all "progress minded" SA AFL fans?
I hope so! :D

I'm certainly not, I'm worried as all hell about it. :?

AFL needs a reserves comp, they can't kill off the Magpies, 143 years of black and white Magpie history representing our area pretty much out the window for them to potentially become and suvive as just some bloody reserves team. :(
