BUT he might have kicked into the man on the mark, kicked it out on the full or dropped dead, so we'll never know.
If only it was a 25m penalty and Gergiou kicked a point
DRAW

NA lead by a point
NW with their last foray into attack
Langford passes to Georgiou
Georgiou marks, on TV it appears between wing and half forward [about 55m out ???]
Sensing whatever Georgiou plays on
He almost eludes the man on the mark Alleway, and gets marginally past him
He is tackled from behind by Alleway
The tackle almost certainly appears to be around Georgious ankle
Georgiou is subsequently tripped and falls to the ground
Georgiou then handpasses the ball
Approximately 2 seconds later the siren sounds
QUESTION
Im not sure what the rules are on tripping these days
Should Georgiou been awarded a free kick ?
Is there a penalty for deliberate OR unintentional tripping ?[I reckons it was unintentional]
Whats the verdict ?
I reckons it should have been a free kick at least
And I know you want more ...
Georgiou plays on
The umpire has not called play on when he is impeded
I know its a 50m penalty in the AFL
Is it the same in the SANFL ?
It sounds like the umpire called play on after the trip was executed
At about the time Georgiou handballed is when I heard the ump call play on , on the TV
Whats the verdict on this one ?

But the Historians of the NW + NA football clubs need to know the facts NOW
In the year 2525, the historians will only see a 1 point win for NA
Some bright spark will have recorded the safooty annuals and time capsuled this thread perhaps
Then the humans of 2525 will know there was some controversy in this match
As there was in the following games influenced by late umpiring decisions
1978 NW V ST Grand Final
1945 WT V NA First Semi Final

The beauty of football is we get to have at least 1 more crack at each other this year, we will see how much motivation you get out of it. Maybe it will backfire on Bass maybe it wont
