Spot on Big Phil i would say the crowd was 70/30 split in favor of Central the outer and behind the goals was a wash with red white and blue 25,000 was a great crowd which is on par with the crowd of 25,000 in 2006 against the Eagles i was really expecting a crowd of between 15,000 to 20,000 because of Bathurst being on so it was a winner for the SANFL.
SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF.

Just heard that eagles won the GF. Surprised actually because I watched them play sturt in round 3 and they were far from a premiership team. Well done to Two Wells local Jared Allmond on winning a medal. Good stuff

Yep, agree Apache, about 70/30. Thought 25k was passable but not great, was really worried we might only get 20k given the predicted weather.

Have to agree. There were definitely more Centrals supporters than Eagles. I somehow think the Glenelg supporters that are trying to have a dig at Centrals so called lack of support are just a little bit jealous that their team is so incompetant on and off the field that they are trying anything they can to have a go at our club. I'll take it as a compliment.

Not much needs to be said....unbelievable game! Credit to centrals for putting up such a fight in the last quarter. I don't think I watched the last 5 mins. I was just looking down at the ground thinking the Eagles had let this one slip. Well done boys :D

At the end of the day neither side draw big crowds so I think the attendence was passable.

Are you serious ????????????
Centrals consistently draw good crowds and certainly give a great atmosphere at the big games. :!:[/quote]

Centrals do have a good following...
....but if the day ever comes again that there is a Port/Norwood/Glenelg/Sturt GF (in any combination) you will see 40,000 plus at the sanfl GF.

well done Eagles..thoroughly deserved. great side. (even though i lost big $)
great game of footy. the only decent final we have seen this year
centrals really blew it in the end-sansbury fumble, gowans hitting the post, spurr missing etc. callinan couldnt kick straight (against norwood he kicks them out of his arse)
those people saying the crowd was 50/50 are dreaming. 70/30 at best.
25, 000 poor crowd
what is the lowest grand final crowd ever??

Interesting that some find Parry's F-bomb ammusing. I thought it was pretty average, actually. No real reason as to why, I thought it was pretty average and I'm not immune to using such language myself.

Agree. Was driving back from the flinders rangers listening to ABC radio with kids in the car. yep . average.

Yeah you can understand a slip, but it was in the middle of a speech where he was fairly composed, so no real excuses.

Toumpas may not go yet. Hes only eligible for the GWS mini draft this year.

He is a gun, he showed unbelievable poise today!!!

GSW are all over him, fact.

Gws can't draft him. They have the ability to draft 4 seventeen year olds but have to trade them on. Otherwise he will be in next years draft.

Different clubs in the Grand Final will attract a different crowd number. Fact.

Getting tired of hearing "poor" and "pathetic" regarding the people there (or as it were, people not there). It's just the way it is. There are a lot of factors involved in a crowd that size, and a lot of it has to do with the low "second tier" following of the Eagles - ie the people who support the club but don't go every week. Centrals, and many other clubs, have massive amounts of sleeper fans - and that's a good thing! All of the Eastern suburbs would come out for a Legs GF - all of the Port, all of Unley.. it's just how it is. To be honest, in my opinion, we have the worst geographical area for "pulling fans" from - at least when you look at location to the club. It's such an aging area (and I've seen the statistics) which affects a lot of things. I'm jealous of the area Centrals have. No, the area didn't give them success, but the success they've had combined with the area they are in as been a goldmine. I would hazard a guess and say that if the Eagles right now, had Centrals record of the last 12 years, we wouldn't have anywhere near as many fans (although I use that term loosely)

Interesting re the draft talk from the Eagles.
Can't really see Day or Goldsworthy being drafted.
Allmond has come back well this year after losing his way last year, doubt he would be taken though.
Staple would be the one smokey I reckon. Good size, pace, fitness base to build on. Has the right footy instincts IMO, good hands and kick for goal as he started to believe in himself in the last half of the year.
