Fantastic game of footy. Glad I went. Full credit to both teams.

PS - I rate that Kieran McGuinness. That boy can play.
So you've seen everything have you?

I left him at the Berkley at 3.30 this morning and he was an absolute spastic. I would hate to see what sort of form he is in as we speak.

it would rate right up there as one of the best games i have ever seen live. Is it just me, or does anyone else agree?

Agreed

While 2000 will always be special, this years is up there with the best purely as a great football spectacle. The fact that Centrals won is just icing on the cake.

Couldn't agree more BC...

I think this little stat, courtesy of Jai Bednall on Localfootysa, says it all as well...

Jai Bednall in his MMCM article wrote:
THE margin was the lowest in a Grand Final since Norwood defeated Sturt by a point in 1978.

Was a great spectacle to watch and one that I will NEVER forget...

Might want to check these things before you use stats to make a non-existent argument. Centrals nowhere near the lowest crowds, 3rd highest home crowds this season.

How about you do the maths?

IMO had this been AFL he would be gone, but its not and these things are part of our game. It was what made me enjoy yesterdays game regardless of result good, hard footy. I actually think it looks worse in hindsight rather than on the day, Phillips was not really even looking like tackling the dogs player he was never going to get to the contest so the hit was not in play. Callinan prob should have gone to help his team mate out or attempted to grab the footy, wont go on about this as it happens in football and Callinan was awesome yesterday despite this incident and really should not be remembered for that, its the game we play and the dogs play it better than most, no way Callinan wanted to put Phillips in hospital but would have been happy to see him out of the game.

What a glorious advertisement for the SANFL. It mystifies me that in these days of digital TV channels, that this event could not have been telecast in say WA & Vic. Don't tell me the average footy fan in those states wouldnt have enjoyed watching the spectacle, even if they had no real knowledge of the SANFL.
Full credit to Norwood - I thought they had broken the game open at half time & my only hope was for a huge 3rd quarter and then for us to get the lucky breaks in the last quarter. In some respects that happened, although the belief and character of the team enabled that to occur.
The Doggie Dynasty has just added its second most precious chapter..
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Relooked at the footage of the Phillips hit, and if not a sniper act as I said earlier, clearly high contact and I thought at least a free kick. So I retract what I said about Callinan, he was clearly Dogs best player and 2nd best on ground and the winning side should get the Jack Oatey, if we had won then Puopoulou clear winner.

The last chapter of the Doggie Dynasty has been written, and now the NWO (Norwood World Order) begins!!!

Can someone tell me why Gags wasn't offered the opportunity to address the crowd at the presentations?? I always believed the losing Captain was given the right to thank his players and supporters, and congratulate the victors.

Just making a point. I live in the north and i cant understand why you dont get more to games. Is it cos sat arvos? You guys have a huge area to draw from you play great football and are proven winners, i always find your facilities are great and i always enjoy going there. The finals show how huge your numbers are and i would think you would be able to draw 8000 every week. Maybe because its as certain that night follows day that the dogs will play in the gf that some of your fans take the minor round for granted. But for those that do go regularly i think our games v central were the best 3 games of the year

You've been watching way too much AFL.

The losing captain does not address the crowd at presentations at SANFL Grand Finals (well, they haven't in the past 11 at least)

Just got home from family day. Lots of the boys looking under the weather and they're not sure where Jenner is. He hasn't surfaced yet.

Boyd played the second half with a broken leg. What a champion.

You could tell that this one meant a lot to them.
