Good boy, CP. I just hope Bass doesn't have anyone to cover him in the match! ;)

I'll have a word to Fred and see what we can tee up .. He might be busy quadruple teaming Buckets thus leaving Hayes alone ;)

Eddie Sansbury $41. He is due for a big one and does kick goals in GFs.

What are the odds on Norwood winning? I might chuck some money on them. I'm not convinced that last week was their best effort - I think they're more than a chance against Centrals.

Oh, so that's what that free bet thingo is all about. I'll save it until Norwood are out to about $5 - it should happen by the end of the week.

Teenage Ruckman Dan Gooringe was given a lesson by the Big Mac in the 2nd semi
Absolutely no disgrace though
With Doyle injured , he was thrust into the team, and in all fairness he might not have been ready
Dan just looked out of his depth in a finals cauldron
He will be a star player one day, but not yet

DAWE is the same build, so 2 beanpoles against the Big Mac was not the answer 2 weeks ago

So I think NW have rightfully gone for the Big Mac real deal
A combination pack of DAWE/BOWN/ROWE

Yes BOWN might be 1 run short, but thats close enough, the big fella will have his role to play

What are Legs fans thoughts on Terlich? To me he seems to have the right instincts to get where he should be, but continually makes simple skill errors, including dropped marks, that lead to 50-50's rather than the ball going to their advantage.
How about the thought of dropping him and playing Gorringe as a forward pocket taking a bit of pressure of Shenton and allowing Rowe to pinch-hit in the ruck without losing too much of their forward structure?

Terlich has his moments like everyone. I cant see Gorringe getting picked this week because as an 18 year old, he has had a massive year playing league footy against men, and also fitting in his u/18 club, state and national commitments including the trip to South Africa. He is slated to go high in the draft and that is where his future is. The bigger issue is having the best 21 to take on the Dogs and that means fitness and strength included. We have a number of other very young players but they play in positions where they aren't going body on body all day like the rucks do. Lets face it, even our prime ruckman Doyle struggles to play a full season!

It would actually be interesting to see how many games each club ruckman played in 2010, and of the games missed, how many were due to injury rather than form. Spelly?

Fair enough, Squawk, just trying to think about something that might be a bit of a surprise and would keep GOrringe out of the ruck.

Yeah, it's a tough one and in a perfect world he would play in the GF. Things aren't always perfect though - injuries, form, match-ups etc all affect decisions around the selection table. Gorringe did start forward against Central a fortnight ago IIRC, as well as vs the Bays the week before. So I guess Bass did try something like your suggestion but after all his work since pre-season as a 17 year old I guess he can be forgiven for starting to struggle a bit at this time of the year.

one must feel a bit sorry for jamie vlatko, firstly he left a struggling glenelg who then became competitive although not reaching the holy grail, he then arrives at norwood who bar for a couple of years were struggling, he leaves norwood because he got a decent job & norwood 6 months later are in a grand final....i feel for jamie vlatko

I didn't think Vlatko was such a bad player. A solid mark and decent kick for goal, with a good midfield he could finish. Just not much chop without good supply is was sorted him out.

Lol. Actually, I think the part of the record that isn't mentioned with these guys (apart form the flags, 200 games, state games, JO medals, B&F.....) is the fact that they've been among the best players most of the time in grand finals. 10 times top 5 best players and 4 other best player nods (according to the write ups I was going by) in the GFs won at least.
