Last year I said Westies as a club wouldn't get as many votes as the winner - It was laughed off, but i was right

This year, a joint winner representing WAFC - Congratulations to both players.

Its good to see the SANFL once again out-doing itself with its coverage yet again... talk about sinking to all time new lows. I don't even know why they bother with this medal anymore, its not like they give a toss.

Congratulations to Jimmy and Rhys, deserved winners.

Jimmy's form this year has been wonderful, full of courage, skill and commitment.

Good on you, Jimmy.

As for the SANFL, an unmitigated public relations disaster.

No radio coverage, even though it was offered and a totally useless website.

Well done to both players. As csbowes said, an extra bright spot for the Bloods to help the renaissance.
Tried to follow the count as best I could* - did Archard come home with a bit of a rush? After round 18 reckon he didn't he even have 12 votes?

*Not meant with any disrespect to Dutchy, Wedgie, Diss or anyone else here - thanks for giving it your best and doing a great job, just frustration at the overall coverage.

Damn, I wish I'd setup the live reporting for this, I didn't realise the state the coverage was in :(

I'd have to rate the coverage of this year's magarey d grade at best. C'mon SANFL pull your finger out - we demand better than the shit you put up this year.

Congrats to the winners...

...but geeez what a load of crap...how can the SANFL get away with calling an update every 6 rounds 'live coverage'...this site crashed and took the Legs forum down with it and then the SANFL site crashed too...hope the SANFL never try to organize a p*ss up in a brewery

To be honest... sometimes I get the feeling the league just pay lip service to this competition. If the clubs had no representation, I'd expect the league to be renamed AFL-SA, manage the stadium and oversee the Crows/Power and allow the SANFL to move back down to being A1 amateur league and not give a toss.

... mainstream media like 5AA and The Advertiser, I reckon are the same, they give the SANFL attention to some degree, but overall, if the SANFL disappeared I don't think their hearts would miss a beat.
