I'll settle for a personal thoughts only post. :D

My thoughts are that communication works well when negative issues are discussed as freely as positive issues. I think it's great CD gets on here and spruiks the Eagles. For them to surpass Norwood's membership figures with a far smaller supporter base is testament to his abilities. However, he has to take the good with the bad and if he's on the Eagles board of directors and posts on SaFooty then I think he should respond to some of the points above.

It's a fair point that...

Then again, CD represents a particular role on this site, with marketing and membership information, and is just one of a number of Board members. I'm of the opinion that it would be highly unprofessional if he was to come on here answering questions and addressing issues on behalf of the Board as a whole. No doubt the rest of the Board would not appreciate any decision to do this either.

Eagles fans...write a letter to the Board, seeking answers.

A few years back a number of us Bays fans got together some of our key questions about the direction of the club, and the President of the Board responded in writing. While many of the responses to our issues was tripe that actually told us nothing, there was a lot of stuff in the letter that clarified rationale on issues we were concerned about. We all felt a better deal of respect towards the Board for deeming our issues important enough to table at a Board meeting, and then to provide us with a written response...

As one of 9 board members I do take responsibility for the collective decisions of the board along with my fellow board members.

I do respond privately to any member who contacts me with their contact details (some folk on this site who I have send a PM in the past with an invite to contact me have chosen not to do) and I do speak to members each and every week at the footy and at the club.

I work for the club in the following areas as well as my board duties: membership, marketting and over the top spruiking whenever and where-ever I can, player welfare and as a member of the league stats team every week for Ron and the coaching team.

All official comments from the club other than the marketting-membership communication I do are quite rightly left to the CEO and the President.

Apologist. :D

Thanks for the reply CD. You're unique amongst the SANFL Board members, that admit it publically anyway, in that you post here and I think it's to be comended. I was just curious as to the boundaries of what you'll discuss.

Hopefully Norwood will have a Board member one day who's heard of the interweb.

Even given the above I do offer other comments. As i've stated before:
No-one can be happy with our form this season as we have been extremely inconsistent – our best is terrific but sadly we haven’t been able to produce regularly.

Tomorrow is very important and being Heritage day lets hope it is our best on display!

I agree, lets hope that come 4:25 pm tomorrow the last team to beat Glenelg at Woodville Oval in a Woodville Guernsey is the 1978 Woodville team...

According to Ecky on SL.org the the Warriors guersey have never won at Pecker Park, lets hope it stays that way...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Well Ronny now has the distinction of being the only coach whose team has knocked off each of the top 3 teams this year.

Not even Mark Mickan can claim that one!

I may have said that it may be time for a change, but I definitely have reserved my final opinion for the end of the season. However, I am really thinking that this years performances have a lot to do with the unsettled nature of the side. The three wins against the top three clubs have come come down to a committed performance, but also they seem have had the right formula for those matches. I also doubt this players/coach friction now, because today, Sturt at Thebarton and Central at Woodville would have never happened if there was.

Here is the changes made, for a range of reasons like Crows/Power selection, injuries, dummy spits from recruits, form, the draft lab, and because of too many players in the one position - key forwards

Round 2 - Hier, Malinovski in; Giuffreda and Mackie out
Round 3 - Mackie, Gogoll, D.Redden, Lane, Grocke in; Hier, Malinovski, Staple, Jacky, Rimington out
Round 4 - Broadbent, Daveron, Symmons and Passador in; J.Stewart, D.Redden, Schwarze, Geddes out
Round 5 - Cicolella, Schwarze, Jacky, P.Stewart in; Mackie, Gogoll, Biagi, Lane out
Round 6 - Hall, McGregor in; Broadbent, Jacky out
Round 7 - Broadbent, Jacky in; Roberts, Hicks out
Round 9 - Roberts, Colville, Petrenko, Hicks, Hentschel, Rimington in; McEntee, Broadbent, Daveron, Hall, Cicolella, McKenzie out
Round 10 - McEntee, Giuffreda, Daniel, McKenzie, Geddes in; Colville, Symmons, McGregor, P.Stewart, Jacky out
Round 11 - Colville, Hier, Malinovski, Pavlich, McGregor, Jacky in; McEntee, Hicks, Fairclough, Treeby, Grocke, Passador out
Round 12 - Treeby in; Giuffreda out
Round 13 - Broadbent, Wright, Klun, Grocke in; Malinovski, Hentschel, Pavlich, Jacky out
Round 14 - Corbett, Hentschel, Passador in; Colville, Broadbent, Grocke out
Round 15 - Broadbent, J.Redden, Cicolella, P.Stewart, Grocke in; Roberts, Corbett, Hentschel, Schwarze, Rimington out
Round 16 - Roberts, Corbett, Hall, Staple, Rimington in; Wright, J.Redden, Cicolella, Fitzgerald, Salter out
Round 17 - McEntee, D.Redden, Goldsworthy, Hentschel in; P.Fiacchi, P.Stewart, Rimington, Grocke out
Round 18 - Wright, Colville, Symmons, Grocke in; McEntee, Hentschel, Powell, Petrenko out
Round 19 - Lee, Petrenko, Powell in; Roberts, Staple, Wright out

Spelly do you think its funny how against Sturt the side looked gone part way through the first 1/4 and again Saturday the team looked gone at 1/4 time.
The last game against Sturt I think started the foundation for this game.By that I mean the team blocked Sturts forward line and was hard at the body. Against South they blocked the forward line the weather was a shocker in that game and that brought South back to our level. And this game they were hard at the body HELL we were even FLOODING  in the first half !!!
The win against sturt at thebbie was the old Ealges style of playing and perhaps the same against an undermanned Centrals .
But the last two wins and the loss to sturt at unley the game plan has changed .
Does Ron get credit or is someone else up in that coaching box pulling the strings like Rick and Luke did in 2006 ?
Someone in the know might enlighten us and if it is Ron well done on changing your thought process
And yes the third quarter trick again this week

I think you're spot on mickyj. The last three weeks, especially against Sturt and Glenelg, there has been a noticeable change in game plan. The midfielders are working harder getting back to help out the defenders. Also, the coaches box hasn't been scared to try a few different things. Not only Treeby going forward after half time, but it seemed in the first quarter of yesterday's game they were playing a bit of Pagan's Paddock, trying to go over the top running back toward goal instead of the usual kick to Passador on the lead. It's good to see these things happening in crunch time as opposed to the old "panic panic we're down with 10 minutes to go lets put Lindsay at Full Forward" style.

So I am wondering is Mark Jefferies having any say in what's going on.And if so is he being groomed as Ron's replacement he seems to be doing a lot of off field stuff.
But if its all Ron well done to Ron proving us in the outer wrong .

I love that 'panic panic we're down with 10 minutes to go lets put Lindsay at Full Forward' line, Aerie. :D

mickyj, I can't argue with that. I think that and the revolving door of players have seen the mixed bag of results this year.
