Sorry, no goalscorers or best players although I thought Aish stood out.
Tried to keep track in the first half but it was too hard relaying scores on from Alberton as well as putting in the Richmond scores on a phone as well as taking pics.
Awful awful game though where it was a battle of who wast least worse would win, Collins has West playing an AFL style of game which isn't going to work at SANFL level but they'll take a long time to gel with so many new players.
Managed to sneek in a BBQ burger at half time and 2 beers, always great service and facilities at West, I wish North could take note.
Good crowd, about 2800 in my estimation, I managed to just get there at 1.55 after I didn't get my old car start till about 1.40, can't believe I made it from Happy Valley to Richmond in 15 mins!
Came home to find the missus hadn't even used the new car.
Sorry if I seemed about other comments but its very low getting scores through on a wireless network and if someone has posted a comment in the meantime I have to re send it, I might see if there's some way I can turn those settings off the website other weeks, or we'll have to have 2 threads going perhaps.
Moving the pics off my camera now so should have them up in an hour or so.

PS Thanks for the scores from the Bay as I had $50 on them today, couldn't believe the Eagles were favourites, luckily only lost $20 on West as I thought that was a real unknown game with West at $2.10. $20 profit to start the year, hooray! :D

Sorry I went missing for the last half - an unexpected family visit.
Wish I could give the same reason for Central going missing today!!

Well done on a great win, Sturt.
JAS, go you Leggies! See you next week (a repeat of Norwood's trip to Elizabeth last year is required).

Cheers

Isn't technology an amazing thing, we have guys from the other side of the world giving score updates. Yet the offical SANFL website can't give live scores and it will be a least another 24 hours till they even get the results on it.

Off the top of my head the ladder will be

Sturt
South
Glenelg
Central
North
Norwood
Port
Eagles
West

Bays and Centrals will be close with %age could be Centrals 3rd, Bays 4th....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

How the hell do Central get ahead of North when they've had more kicked against them then they've kicked themselves and North are undefeated?

I think that was his point DW, ironically I only say it to pay someone else out who used to say it all the time.
Hope your keeper was ready for that one mate.

Well done all scorers today. It is at lesat a consolation after having missed the games due to work, to be able to sit back and watch them unfold on the game thread.

Much appreciated!
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Actually just on it, I must admit with the Roost too, I really enjoy going through a Gameday thread from start to finish and my request during the day to leave it for scores only to get them posted quickly eliminates a lot of that.
Its only because if someone posts before I've hit submit the site brings up another page saying that someone else has commented and I may wish to review my post, I then have to click submit again. Sometimes I'd get the warning 2 or 3 times in a row before my post could get up because of other posts made meanwhile.
This obviously isn't an issue 99.9% of the times but it is when trying to post scores through a dodgy wireless connection using a phone.
Ideally comments could still be made and my posts just go up auto without the warning page.
I'll look into it and see if there's some way I can turn that function off for the day or somehow change my settings.

Just wanted to say really BIG THANKS to all those who helped on this site & LifeFM with score updates.

I often grew up at home unable to get to games and relied on around the ground score updates to keep track of how Woodville was going.

Every since I got into SANFL on the radio the around the grounds has been a passion.

Sometimes it is said that you have to have been a player to be a good commentator

Well, whilst I concur that a players perspective is an important part of a balanced team
just is important is having a fans or listeners perspective to ensure what is the most important part of the coverage (ie the listener) is getting what they want.

I know that what West / Norwood / South & Port fans really wanted today (besides a win) was regular updates on how their team was travelling,

Thanks you all your help we did about 45 score updates today during the LifeFM call, if that is not a new SANFL record I dont know what is.

Hopefully next week the SANFL scoreboard works and it is a lot smoother to do.

On behalf of all those who I am sure enjoyed the updates thanks again to those who made them possible.

Well with North on a bye i decided to have a lie in today.

What a great thread this has been. Readit from start to finish and because I didn't already know the final scores, was a good read.

Thanks to all for posting updates. Putting it on one thread makes it a lot easier to keep upto date.
