If he can't get a game at Port why would he think he can get one at Norwood ? Better coaching maybe ?
Any details about this guy. Wish him well either way.

I guess that is a question for someone at your club.

I know Port fought very hard to keep him at Alberton, so for Wilson to leave with so many good changes happening at the PAFC is really disappointing.

Be interesting what happens with his brother.

I know the rivalry might not be quite what it use to be but have there been many players swap from Port Magpies to Norwood or vice-versa over the years? Eugene Warrior is one. Wouldn't think it would be the most popular of moves?

Gary Smallridge, Michael Hobby to Norwood
Mark Vetesse to Port

"Sticks" Dolan (or Nolan??) was another about 30 years ago .. Can't remember too many other than Big Bob McLean that went on to forge a career of any significance at their new club.

Vettesse?

Did he even play at league level last season?

From the coaching side former magpies Bryan Beinke (left Norwood in 2011) and current legs assistant coach Andrew McLeod. As previously mentioned in this forum Keith Thomas and Peter Rhode are still involved at one club as was Matthew Primus.

What particularly would make you think the rivalry isn't what it used to be?

I saw his old man at a Maggies game last year carrying on like an absolute knob with a few of his d..kh..d mates, what i was told was 1 of the Wilson boys had an issue with a senior league player who i can say had left the club at the end of last season but couldn't speak to anyone else bar dad about it, in the mean time he stewed over it for weeks while dad abused every player & coaching staff he could at the game i was at.
I think his old man needs to pull his head in & behave like a responsible supportive parent.

like Peter Lindsay who went to the Eagles last year Luke Wilson has heaps of pace but if he couldn't get a game at Ports last year how does he expect to be a regular league player at the comps best team. Was in the state under 18's two seasons ago but wasn't regularly picked and played only minimal time when he was. Good reserves player with plenty of pace mainly playing across halfback, can't see him being a league regular at Norwood.

Gonna be alot tougher for him at Norwood with the depth they have.
Good luck to him, he'll learn the hard way!
