There was a jumper about a decade or so ago, trained by Lee Freedman 'Richard Cranium', not sure how that one got through.

Another one that slipped through, a greyhound about 4-5 years ago 'Norma Stitz'.

I couldn't care less that Norwood has picked up Eagleton. The facts are you have signed Matt Suckling from Pt. Melbourne.

 Yeah right

Not according to the NFC website, the club has always been good at announcing new recruits and so far ziltch, I will believe it when I see it on that site meantime, your guessing. 8)

We are pleased to announce two new signings for season 2011.

Mat Suckling is a 21 year old, 184cm, 85kg midfielder from Port Melbourne & Jordan Johns a 19 year old, 185cm, 80kg wingman or half back from South Adelaide (via Port Power rookie list). Both have committed for the next two seasons.

Mat is strong bodied with good skills, terrific running abilities & a fierce desire for the contest.

Jordan initially recruited by Port Power as a scholarship player from Broken Hill has good leg speed, uses the ball really well by hand or foot & will add to our running power off half back or wing.

We welcome both boys to our club & look forward to their contribution over the coming seasons.

Surprised about Jordan. Nice lad.

Struggled at reserve level this year. Played essentially in the back line (don't recall playing on a wing but may have).

Good luck to him.

Gee South have done well to get a quid for Johns. Just looked up results - did not grace the best players in the (bottom-placed) reserves once!

Seems like a very, very odd signing, on the back of not a lot of positive evidence. Obviously they've seen something, but at this stage looks weird.

I wonder if Taylor Walker had anything to do with it, both being Broken Hill lads.

From what I have seen, the lad has talent and can play if he is switched on for the entire game. From memory, had a few issues with the groin(s) which may have restricted him from playing some good footy for South but he is a solidly built lad and from what I saw of him, provided some good run off half back and has reasonably good skills.

Could be one of those signings that a lot of people initially question but I think he will prove them wrong...

Is he regarded as an "import" because he is from Broken Hill, or has he played enough time in the SANFL to qualify as a local?

not sure if he is an "import" but South can ask up to $25k for his trasfer - even if they only got $1k, it would be robbery! He not even be as good as Norwood last buy of South - Kennedy-Hunt!

Also there was a horse a while back called Myface. The trainer used to love watching the girls in the crowd yell "come on Myface"
