I hope Mr Metcalfe's presidency holds up. ;)

Thank goodness he's safe though, so no worries there.

Garry's been blamed for everything from the Christmas Storms in Melbourne, the Syrian crisis, and the federal Government budget blow-out...

But has he taken the club forward? That's the only measure of success in his role.

Serious question, not all Norwood fans would automatically vote for Tripodi next time his board position comes up.

Happy to compare Earl Shaw and Doyle's sanfl careers anytime you like BP.

Next you'll be telling me you rate Sansbury as a player.

Derek Sansbury was an okay player for the Dogs, only managed the 1 League game from memory...

Eddie on the other hand, well, he's alright, I think he won the Dogs B&F this season just gone, so he must be half decent...

( Just don't let Dutchy see this ;) )

Serious answer 2005 is a long time ago under President McReary (sp) but 2nd last after 3 coaches in 12 months, financial loss, hadn't made finals in six years. fast forward six years 2 coaches in six years, finals 5/6 years, redeveloped club rooms, and now lights. I think you can make a solid arguement that this is the best President and board we've had since John Ellers in the late 60s early 70s. Unquestionably he has taken us forward.

It's been tainted by the onfield lack of performance by the League team since that Prelim final of 2009 but I spose a measure of how well he has gone that after two years of relative non-success the supporters and members are getting restless. Gee in his first year as President we were happy at just missing out on the finals now were p!ssed off at just making them.

In this members opinion he deserves to stay.

<edit> forgot his MOST importantant achievement in the last six years, the return of SNOUTS' BAR and the removal of the beer caravan.

Presidents don't get to nor need to kick the ball.
Sounds an impressive list to me.

And most of the work for those achievements can be accredited to former CEO Darren Chandler. Not Metcalf or his board, although they do like to claim all the credit for things that work while accepting no responsibility for completely stuffing the football department up.
