Sturt lucky to hold on there. That makes 26 goals they've conceded in second halves this year.

Maloney is not up to the task. He really needs to lift his game. Fade outs like this are squarely on the heads of the coaching staff IMO. They need to get the players fitness (physical and psycological) into gear, and smarter coaching match day moves are needed.

Johncock 7, Butcher 5. McIntyre 4....just goes to show how this comp will be affected if these players were playing for the Crows or Powers reserves side. Hope it never happens....

Well done Sturt for holding on, exciting game in the end

That was the least "edge of your seat" 6 point game I've ever seen!

First half was absolutely disgraceful but in the second half we showed signs of a decent style of play. If we can keep that going its not all bad signs for the magpies.

Left at half time so cant comment on the second half but was it more to do with Sturt fading or Port playing better?
Were an absolute shambles in the first half, as I said its probably the worst skilled Port side ive ever seen.
I predicted Port would only win 3-4 games this year but after seeing them in the first 2 games id be surprised if they even win that many

Who's the goal kicking coach down at Port?
Both the league and Ressies apalling infront of the sticks, plenty more scoring shots than Sturt.

The $$ Man with the opening goal for the Eagles. Nice day for footy, hopefully the Bloods give the TV viewer a half decent spectacle.

Could the ABC find a worse special comments caller than Chris Gowans??? I would doubt it except I am sure his twin would be just as bad!
