Plus the money they're saving only having one gate open.

That isn't anything to do with Port, will be happening at all grounds in the coming weeks I hear from someone involved with Port.

Nothing to do with Port, except that the SANFL are penny pinching because of Port?

Same has happened at West and Norwood, would be ridiculous to do at Elizabeth considering the distance between the northern 'centrelink' gate and the south eastern pocket gate.

Part of that is because the league gate takings were restructured this year.

It used to be that a few clubs made a loss from the game days (gate takings less costs ie SANFL & security staffing) and that was subsided from the total pool before being distributed out.

From 2012 if a club hosted a match and didnt cover the costs, the hosting club wears it.

On the flip side clubs got more responsibility/authority with home match promotion and how the staffing is done.

Reducing gate staff where possible is one result.

Anyway ... half time in Reserves at Noarlunga where it is 18.2c

Having 6k athe Parade and everyone exiting through 1 gate didnt seem very safe when Central played Norwood, especially in an emergency situation. Everyone crammed under the grandstand exit.

Having reduced gates for entrance is one thing but exiting is another matter.

I know a lot of clubs open up extra gates in the final quarter so the crowd can leave easily. ie at Norwood there is a roll a door under the western wing stand that is always open post match.
