And as an added bonus S Rowe quits. Well done Rowe. It's easy to talk the talk, a lot harder to walk the walk. Have seen one "coaching move" on game day that won a match. Cornes on to the ball round 6. Against the bottom side. Would not be surprised to see S Rowe backpedalling at a million miles an hour this morning.

Do the Glenelg fans think the players were supportive of Mickan or do you think he had lost them?

Cheers for that, had a few beers with a bays supporter last night and he was trying to name them in order, he thought mickan was the fifth in 5 years.

Heard him on 5AA this morning and he made alot of sense. Being Mickans 2IC he said that his loyalty to Mickan meant he had to go too. Good on him.

Obviously it was within the framework the club and his contract dictated, so in his role is Rowey the problem or the club for allowing the part-time aspect?

Lets face it, the bloke is from the old school where passion, motivation and playing for the guernsey are the most important thing and not forward presses or zones. I'd imagine, and perhaps with good use, that Rowey would have been the motivator, the emotional one. Mickan, from afar, doesn't seem like the bloke to get the boys pumped up before a game, perhaps that was Roweys role?

I may well be right off the mark, but that's how I see it.

I'd heard Rowey mention many times that he wasn't intended to be a match day coach, if the club and Mickan were happy with that then that's the main thing isn't it?

Listening to him on the radio here and there I reckon his knowledge comes across as sound, but his emotions often lead to irrational thought (and in turn speech) ... You've got to sit through a fair bit of drivel, but on the rare occasions when he discusses legitimate aspects of the game (on field) I think he has a fair understanding.

From an outside point of view thats how i saw the situation as well.

Good on Rowey imho, him and Mickan will be lifelong mates, the Glenelg Football Club was not always going to be there for him.

At the end of the day, I guess it matters little what us non-Bays people think, but FWIW I think the club has made the right decision, albeit a tough one.

I hope Mickan continues to command respect down there with every passing year, because he gave them a lot but ultimately football clubs move on, as they have in this instance.

I think we all need to give Rowey a bit of slack from time to time. Not many of you would know English is his second language.

I never had an issue with Rowey, it was the club that appointed him with the condition that he couldnt make every game. As Ive said to a few people, would Centrals accept that? No.

Yeah, I dunno. When hes not acting like an 8 year old with a learning disability and actually talks football I think he comes across as quite savvy re: tactics and setups.
