andyw pull your head in you clown, not one of us has got on here talking about how we are prmiership favourites. Yes you had players missing so did we. I was happy to get the 2 points and that is all we got out of that game.

TURNOVERS
It was a rarity of sorts in this match
I counted more CD turnovers than NW turnovers in this game

UMPIRES
Rarely have I seen a game where the umps had so many 50/50 decisions to adjudicate
I saw frees in this game paid that were not paid in the CD V NW finals last year
Just seems umps pay them in Minor round games, and not in finals
FWIW and I may be innaccurate, CD were slightly favoured in the 50/50 decisions
However, CD were robbed a couple of shots in front of goal[Havelberg/Habel] so perhaps CD were slightly behind the par by the game end

BEST
My top 4 votes from this game
1 SUTHERLAND
2 PFEIFFER
3 EAGLETON
4 SHENTON
These votes for the worst hairdos on the ground !

BOWN
Was written off last year by a few on Safooty
This year he has been magnificent
Last year he had an injury interrupted season, and was underdone in the finals
This year he is playing at his peak
His 3 bounce goal on the run was a ripper

SUTHERLAND
I honestly thought Pumpa could never ever fill Buckets shoes
I dont think thats possible
But Pumpa has really surprised me with his form in 2011
His goal from the forward pocket when he beat 2 opponents and dribbled a freak goal was the games highlight

BARMBY
Keeps improving every game I see him
My initial thoughts were he would not make the grade, but he has
Most improved player at the Ponderosa ?

DUNNE
Im glad he got off after being reported for the softest of softest incidents
Made a couple of boo boos , which surprised me as his disposal is mostly impeccable

It would be so nice if people stopped worrying about every word I say. My interest is the Norwood Football Club, not the SANFL. My opinions of the competition wouldn't alter even if Norwood had won 9 flags in the past 11 years.

Now, stop quoting something I posted a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time ago (a typical Central thing to do on this forum) and get a life. You'd think after all the crap Central supporters dish out to everyone else on this forum, they could learn to suck it up when someone says something they may not like.

Norwood beat you today .. you can suck that up as well.

Central supporters = bad losers.

If your interest is the Norwood Football Club, how come you never actually post about them? Or anything positive about them?

As a neutral, I think this was a good effort b Norwood, as I thought the loss of Campbell and Gallagher would be huge for them. Full marks to Bassett.

Obviously Centrals, with several outs as well, remain the team to beat.

Serious question: each side only kicked 7 goals, which I'm sure resulted from pressure football, but what were the tactics employed by the coaches that resulted in such a low scoring game? Was it that each side plaed an extra defender, or just good pressure foot?

Cant tell on TV about who has the extras behind the ball
It appeared both sides had the extra defender most times

It was a hard pressure game
The tackling was fierce at times
Both sides gave it all, a typical NW V CD game of the last 2 seasons

Great game of footy but an ugly one.
Good comeback in the last quarter - we should've won. The Obstacle's miss on goal was crucial but so were the ones in the first term when we had all the running.
Although, we were no orphans there. Norwood's miss from the southern goalsquare early on was comical.
Enjoyed my beers in the premiers bar. Some great photos and memorabilia in there. It was interesting to look at Norwood's lists of premierships.
Great to have a beer in front of the Baulderstone Stand and enjoy some good banter.
Norwood play a very tiring type of game. Can they maintain that?
Possibly the worst game I've seen our boys play for a while, although it would take a lot to beat that hammering we copped at Woodville three years ago.
I was very happy to see a one point result, as going I expected a six goal loss.

And, of course, great to catch up with CP, briefly, and Cennals.

He does on their site, some positive about Norwood but tends to spend a lot of time belittling and denigrating opposition supporters, such as Us scummy, thieving, dole-bludging Centrelink recipients.

Yes, was good to catch up with those mentioned as well as your good self. Pity you didn't catch that mouse though (he did eat half a box of talon last night so can't imagine him given us too much more bother).

Terrible standard of footy, given what I would expect of the two sides. But it was a standard day of fun at the parade, pity more of the fans don't post here because there seems to be a disproportionate number of grumpy sods online.

I did wonder about that mouse. You should have seen how many I crunched on the way home last night, like driving over bubble wrap.

How does the final siren go while the umpire has called time off?

Yesterday wasnt the first time i have seen that happen, IIRC it may have also happened in last years GF.

I dont get it?

Not the first time the siren has sounded at an odd time at Norwood oval when Norwood is leading in a close one, I remember a 24 minute last quarter a few years ago when Norwood were only up by a point or two.

Time for Centrals to get a new timekeeper then?

No, time for Norwood to get a train line going by the oval. ;)

The Norwood Centrals rivalry is approaching that of the Norwood Port rivalry ...... about 2 light years away but still getting closer.
You can usually expect a tough clash and close game. If Norwood can keep a few of its younger players we could build quite a tradition in finals over the next decade.
A lot expected Norwood to drop off this year and whilst early days yet we seemed to have recruited well and the juniors have come on better than most expected.
Long long way to go but as a club we are busting to have another crack at the Dogs in the GF.

Incidentally no one is getting carried away with a one point win at Coopers and Centrals are still well and truly favorites for the flag.

Tough, tight game of footy. bit disappointed they got that close in the end but you take the 2pts and move on, but with no gags or Campbell I will take the win.
Young Webber is becoming a fav on mine, just a hard nut who gets stuck in.
Jonas is getting better each week and the power will surely give him games this year unfortunately.
Can’t believe Schulz was dropped
One final thing the umpiring was disgraceful for both teams

Good on the Norwood supporters for being excited. They should be - a one point win against a club they've developed a rivalry with is a good win, no matter the circumstances.

Agreed, Tom gets better and better each time I see him play. Has added a new dimesion to his game by playing that run-with midfield role, good on Bassett for trying that.

I think with Tom being a Power rookie still, he will need to be upgraded from the Rookie list for him to get an AFL gig, but if he continues to show improvement, it could happen.

Geez you people have short memories. How about 2008 when you came back in the final term to win, and all your "supporters" who we hadn't seen or heard from all day congregated behind the race and gave the Norwood players a serve? And DON'T even think about telling me it didn't happen.

It really pisses me off that "holier than thou" Central people think it's okay for them to do it, but when they cop it, suddenly it's very poor behaviour. Go and sulk somewhere else.
