and just on that, glenelg won what has widely been regarded as the best sanfl grand final ever ;)

In their 54th consecutive loss they only lost to the eventual premiers, West Torrens, by 11 points. Then after 56 consecutive losses in the first game of the season on May 2nd, 1925 (86 years ago yesterday) they beat the reigning premier, West Torrens to register their first win.

I wasn't aware the Tiges played in the 1978 or 1984 grand finals.

I reckon you could make a more than plausible case for 78 or 84 to be regarded as great Grand Finals and of course I think they were better than Stampy's beloved 1934 flag.

FWIW I reckon the '99 GF was as good a game as the two above, just to prove I'm not totally one eyed.
