I'm sorry Wedgie, I love your work, but white guernseys are the absolute pits and usually the laughing stock of the competition.

The bullants maybe?
I've always loved Norths white guernsey with the red Vee, I also love Tottenhams home top.
A white top done well are the best IMHo (but they do need dark shorts)
It'll be great to see a similar style guernsey to the one Ken Farmer kicked so many goals in! :D

I can't believe anyone would be critical of his design with less prominent sponsors on it especially compared to the last 3 white monstrosities we've worn in the last few years.

I think the concept is good but it has been rushed, poorly presented and ill-thought. It's obvious that the AFL have pushed this to prop up GWS and give them some sort of competition before joining the AFL, add to that trying to create some sort of validity to the Territory team competing in the QLDAFL comp and those in the NSWAFL. This would be all very good in isolation but to then try to coerce SANFL & WAFL teams into this halfcaste of a comp with these dictatorial parameters is insulting. The main sticking points for me have been the lack of hard details from the outset, the concerns over jumpers and sponsorship, and the crumbs that they call prize money.
Our clubs have long and proud history's and work very hard to get and keep major sponsors so if the AFL want them to compete to validate the comp then a bit of respect wouldn't be too much to ask for, would it? Obviously it is. This has been rushed into place over 8-10 months by the AFL so the first thing that comes to mind is "what's the angle"? History says, never trust the AFL when they say they want to help and never trust a Greek bearing gifts. (no racial slur intended)

My thought is that if the SANFL & WAFL and TFL can get sponsorship for a mini "Champions" comp they should. Plan it over the next couple of years and compete in it for all the right reasons, without compromised jumpers, sponsors logos etc. It would be great to include the VFL clubs but I'd think the cancerous claws of the AFL are sunk too deep into that comp for them to be able to do what they wanted anyway.

But Ken Farmer kicked the majority of his goals in the traditional North guernsey red with the white vee. North only wore the "gay" all white colours for a couple of years around 1937-38. They quickly reverted to a more manly guernsey.

Hence why I said "so many goals", not "all of his goals".
Your obsession with white equating to gay is concerning. It's WHITE not pink or rainbow.
Would you prefer last years alternate guernsey with a big red cock on it, would that be less "gay" to you? :?

PS I assume you dont wear white shirts at all!

Umpires wore white. North adelaide wore red with a white vee. It just is a magnificent guernsey. There is no need to tamper with it. No need for an away strip. It doesn't clash with anyone as far as I know, certainly not in the SANFL. All white guernseys are rubbish.

Was that a flock of pigs I just saw flying by

1. If we wait for the SANFL, WAFL & TFL to organise anything we will all be viewing from a very high vantage point.

2. Without AFL/Foxtel involvement there will be no TV coverage so who in there right mind would sponsor it?

3. What exactly is the concern with the proposed North guernsey?

4. For the umpteenth time - if this comp was designed to give the GWS exposure, (a load of rubbish), then why weren't the Gold Coast offered a similar opportunity last season?

Q - why didnt the Gold Coast get a chance to play in last years NAB cup.

A - Because last year there were 16 teams competing for the AFL Premiership so that was all they needed to include in the NAB cup.

This year there are 17 teams competing for the AFL Premiership so naturally they all must play in the NAB Cup. However you cant have a knockout tournament with 17 so the new format had to be devised.

I'll accept that the Foxtel Cup has been rushed and can understand (if not entirely agree) with the clubs not being comfortable to commit without knowing all the facts.

But PLEASE stop this rubbish that the whole thing was orchestrated to give the GWS potentially one game. For Gawds sake they could have just organised a few NAB Challenge games for them (as they have done!!!)

Do you really believe this comp was orchestrated to promote the state league football side.

It is simply a t.v space filler, like those five minute mini docos they have after a show finishes and before another starts.

Foxtel might say they're doing it for one reason or another. But sure enough if it doesn't make money, they'll drop it like a hot spud.

It's not filler, they believe they'll make money, like every other sport they pick up. If they didn't think it would make money, they wouldn't do it.

So what if its a tv space filler, it is still on TV and it is being given more exposure. At the same time it is promoting the next level down of australian football around the country and to a fairly significant audience who are between games.
This whole argument that it has been developed for GWS is just nonsense because the AFL have designed the conference system NEAFL for teams from canberra, brisbane and the NT to give them a go.
This new comp will see the reserve teams from the lions, suns, swans and GWS face each other two times a year in cross conferance play.
