Some dogs supporters probably don't. But they're missing a great laugh. :)
I won't bother coming up with all the quotes from your supporters, quoting the cdfc forum. I'm sure when they do it, it's not "pathetic". ;)
Don't get upset HeartbeatsTrue, if you can't see the funny side.

Sorry. i cant see the funny side.
Its a chant.
If crowd support doesnt get teams performing better, or at least add to the atmosphere of the game then why bother showing up?
Should we just all sit there quietly and watch the game?

No worries. Can't argue with most of the above, other than yes, some should just sit quietly and watch the game.
But agree with most of it. Should be great, looking forward to the chant and the atmosphere. :) It would be good to see another club getting creative with their chants. What a perfect game, to release the MONSFAW, should be inspirational.

Good luck to the mighty Leggies this weekend. I have read comments above saying 'I hope Basset doesn't underestimate Centrals this week'. I would be shattered if that occured. This mob are playing in their annual Grand Final, a match they normally win - we are playing off in our first decider in over a decade. They've played one match in the last three weeks while our boys have fronted up every week.

I reckon that the Legs are heavy underdogs in this match and our starts in our last two finals have not been encouraging. If we give up a start to the Dogs this Sunday she's all over. Just remember Legs that this Sunday is about winning a premiership, not participating in a Grand Final. Let's put this Dog to sleep. NO GUTS NO GLORY!

regards,

REB

Great post REB.

Its impossible for anyone in their right mind to underestimate the dogs.
A "Nothing to lose" attitude is needed and the players will be fired up for this.

An effort equal to the eagles game will be no where near enough. 4 quarters is needed and we have the capability.

Cmon Norwood!!

There is no chance that Bassett is underestimating the Dogs.

After all, he seems to pay tribute to the Dogs with the first sentence that comes out of his mouth, every time he is asked a question about the game.

I hope he tapers off the tributes now and starts to put some pressure on the Dogs for a change - expectation, favouritism, etc. You know Kevin Sheedy would. FFS, try something different to what any other coach has tried for the last decade.
Steve Bradbury and Michael Milton. Aussie Legends.

UNCOMPETITIVE

geez, this could come back and bite me on the ass.

Obviously spoke to UKFan then.

In all serious he is the one player which i think we match up well on and have multiple options in Spurr, Sibenaler, Hayes, Goodrem and Thomas who could all go to him.

BORING!!!!!

gee havent seen any of these posts over the last 11 years.

Next youll try to pull out the old "we arent scared of you Centrals".

About as predictable as the fans of the losing Prelim team yelling out "dont worry, the dogs will flog you next week". :-)

Question for Dogs fans, can you tell me how many Jack Oatey medallists you're likely to have take the field at the start of the game?

Here's our complete list:

2000 - James Gowans
2001 - Ricki Macgowan
2003 - Chris Gowans
2004 - Nathan Steinberner
2005 - Luke McCabe
2007 - Chris Gowans
2008 - Jason Mackenzie
2009 - Trent Goodrem

C Gowans has won 2 - I don't know if that changes the odds.
